“Guess who is behind the horrific act? “: Daemon’s Worst Moment in House of the Dragon is Yet to Come

No matter how “morally grey” the character is, there is always a new low waiting for them.

Warning: the following article contains potential book spoilers for House of the Dragon season 2

With House of the Dragon heading into season 2, the stakes are getting higher, and the Targaryen civil war is now imminent. The fandom is already bracing itself for what could easily become the goriest scene not only in the prequel, but in the entire Game of Thrones universe: the infamous Blood and Cheese endeavor.

Blood and Cheese are the nicknames of the killers who will break into the Red Keep and make Queen Helaena choose which one of her children dies — only to slay her firstborn when she makes the horrible choice. This would be the Blacks’ act of revenge for the death of Lucerys at the hands (and teeth) of Aemond (and Vhagar).

Final Game of Thrones Scene is Much Deeper Than You Probably Thought

Guess who is behind the horrific act? The Internet’s darling, Daemon Targaryen.

Many people believe that the Blood and Cheese deed was the worst thing Daemon could have done in his entire character arc. It’s not like he was the nicest person in Westeros before; despite his huge fanbase, he remains a highly questionable character when it comes to morals. However, the decision to go after innocent children and not Aemond himself still bugs Daemon fans — and the drama will only intensify when the Blood and Cheese sequence makes it to screens.

“I love Daemon, he’s one of my absolute fav characters, but this was too much (and I say this as someone who doesn’t disapprove of Vaemond and Rhea Royce’s deaths),” one fan noted on Reddit.

Vaemond died at the hands of Daemon when he called Rhaenyra’s children bastards (Daemon basically sliced his head open, only leaving his tongue in place). Meanwhile, Rhea Royce was Daemon’s first wife whom he hated and murdered.

The worst is yet to come; House of the Dragon season 2 is set to begin filming in March, and the premiere is likely to be slated for 2024.
