Even though professional wrestling has some extremely high peaks, there are also frequent and challenging lows for stars in the sport. Even if you’re Dwayne Johnson, a WWE legend, there is something that remains constant.
After starting his career in professional wrestling in 1996, The Rock was leading the WWF two years later. He was among the most well-known figures in the field and among the most well-liked stars ever by the years 2000 and 2001. His first daughter was born during this time period. On August 14, while Rock was at the height of his WWE fame, Simone Johnson was born. Even though he had started to make inroads into Hollywood, he was still seen as full-time.
However, it wouldn’t be long until his wrestling career was all but over and by 2003 his appearances were few and far between.
Dwayne Johnson Discusses His Role As A Father
In a post on Instagram, Johnson reflected on life and his role as a father. In the clip he can be seen explaining that once he left WWE he made a promise to himself to not do anything that takes away from his role of being “dad.”
“I know a lot of you men out there understand me when I say, of all the roles us men play in our daily hustle and grind of life – my favorite one of all, is “dad”.
I know what it’s like to have a job you love (pro wrestler) and yet it takes you away from the thing you love most (your first born child) from years of being on the road wrestling. I made a promise that I would never do business in anything again that took me away from my family.
That’s why these days I do my best to protect “being dad” with all I got to my three daughters..”
It has long been rumoured that Dwayne Johnson will be returning to face Roman reigns at WrestleMania 39. However, it was recently reported that there is a “very real” possibility he won’t be on the show.
