Now that 2022 has passed, we’re prepared to make new resolutions for this year in an effort to improve upon and surpass our previous accomplishments. Every team in the NBA aspires to achieve their objectives this year, which are often championship victories.
One team that appears to be on the right track to make a splash this campaign is the Brooklyn Nets, who have drastically turned things around and become a serious threat in the Eastern Conference. It wasn’t an easy year for them by any means, as they went through Kyrie Irving’s covid-19 controversy, the James Harden trade, then the Kyrie Irving anti-Semitic controversy, and even the firing of Steve Nash.
In the middle of that, they received a trade request from Kevin Durant. Fortunately, KD is really happy with the current moment of the team and is expressing his excitement about it while talking about this, even throwing shade at his former head coach in the process.

Moreover, the 2x NBA champion recently reflected on all the bad things the Nets endured during this year, saying that amid all those bad moments, they found something good and now are ready to compete at the highest level.

“It was a one of those years you reflect on. You see the turning point in your organization, see different moments that brought us together. You start to see us coming together and form what we’ve been looking to do these last couple of years: A solid team that plays hard every night.
“We went through a lot this calendar year, but we’re looking for bigger and better things in 2023.”
The Nets have been considered championship favorites since they landed Durant and Kyrie Irving in 2019, but things have never worked for them. The Nets made the playoff twice during these years, and the furthest they went was the second round in 2021. This season appears to be a good opportunity to end the narrative about them being unable to win, and Durant is confident they can do it.
