To say that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s turtleneck photo from the 1990s has become a meme is an understatement. It’s often referred to as a picture that generates nostalgia for the 1990s. In the photo, Dwayne Johnson was casually leaning against a stairway while sporting a chain, a black turtleneck on the outside tucked in his jeans, and a black fanny-pack to complete the look.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, was featuring on the Graham Norton Show previously, along with Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum. Consequently, the topic of conversation led to Johnson’s famed 1990s photo, in which he leans casually against a stairway while donning attire that The Rock considered attractive.
Norton played through some of the best fan interpretations of the turtleneck and chain look. From Seth Rogen to a baby then to Hemsworth and Goldblum themselves, everybody joined in on the fun!
Johnson also provided the viewers with some backstory for the shot. DJ revealed that he was leaning on the wall with the help of a tissue as the wall was dirty. Johnson liked Norton’s joke that the trio should dress up like that for a night out in London.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a former professional wrestler who is now an actor, has recreated an iconic picture of him from the 1990s. The Rock hosted Saturday Night Live and brought back the look for the iconic show.
Kevin Hart mocked Dwayne Johnson and his turtleneck photo
For Halloween, Kevin Hart perfectly recreated the well-known picture of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The comedian uploaded a side-by-side image of his outfit and The Rock’s original outfit, writing, “This s—- makes me laugh.”
In the comedy sketch, a group of children arrived at The Rock’s house in Jumanji costumes, asking for treats. But laughter ensued when Hart arrived at Johnson’s house for trick-or-treating. While the Black Adam star was delighted to give the kids some candy, he was far less happy to see Hart show up at his door.
Johnson asks “Why are you dressed like that?” “Because it’s my costume! All you gotta do is go to the costume store and say ‘make me look stupid,” Hart replies posing the same as in Johnson’s original photo.
The post was uploaded the day after Hart posted an emotional post on Instagram regarding his car accident and the lessons he’d taken away from his 10-day stay in the hospital and subsequent recuperation.
