Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe reportedly feels betrayed by his relatives, and is said to have had a change of heart regarding his club future as a result.
The 24-year-old has consistently maintained that his focus is on PSG amid reports that he is not settled in Paris following yet another campaign without winning the UEFA Champions League.
The France captain signed a new two-year deal, which includes the option of a further year, in May 2022, a decision that left admirers Real Madrid frustrated after they had made several big-money bids to lure him to the Spanish capital.
It appears the saga will continue to unfold as there was speculation suggesting that the Frenchman would be able to join a club of his choice after the 2022 FIFA World Cup should he wish to do so.
A new twist has since emerged, with sources close to the player having now reportedly revealed that he regrets penning an extension with the Parisians last year.
According to Defensa Central, Real president Florentino Perez has been informed by three different sources that Mbappe is open to joining the Spanish giants after being “betrayed by his relatives” who persuaded him into staying longer in Ligue 1.
An unnamed high-profile agent is said to have spoken to the Los Blancos chief about this, while a Real star who is close to the attacker is believed to have corroborated these sentiments, and a member of Mbappe’s entourage is also reported to have told Perez the same thing.
It now appears to be up to the famous No. 7 to convince PSG to accept an offer from the 14-time Champions League winners, who reportedly submitted a huge €200 million (R4.1 billion) proposal for his services last year.
It was also recently claimed, though, that Carlo Ancelotti’s side are adamant about not paying a fee for Mbappe following their failure to sign him last year.
