An Argentine farmer has grown an enormous 124-acre image of Lionel Messi visible from space after planting a specially designed corn field to celebrate the star’s World Cup heroics.
Maximiliano Spinazze used an algorithm that calculated where seeds would need to be planted in his field in Los Condores, in the central Cordoba province of Argentina.
The result was an enormous image of Messi’s bearded visage that is visible from space. The incredible tribute to the footballing great comes after he helped Argentina to a famous World Cup victory over France in Qatar.
‘For me Messi is unbeatable,’ said Spinazze, the crop farmer who planted the unusual formation.
‘Now they are world champions, I am delighted this can be expressed by planting the crop.’

The football-mad South American country is a major agricultural producer, the third largest global exporter of corn.
Farming is its main export driver, though football may be its top claim to fame.
Carlos Faricelli, a farming engineer, designed the coding for the machines sowing the seeds that enabled them to plant in a precise pattern to create the eventual image, with certain areas more dense with seeds than others.

‘I had the idea to make a code that goes in the seeders with Messi’s face as a tribute,’ he said, adding he had then made the code available for any farmers ‘who dared to plant it.’
Using geocoding tools, the machinery knows how much seed per square meter it has to put in certain places to create the contrast for different parts of Messi’s face, Faricelli said.
‘So when this corn grows and an aerial shot is taken, where the plants are closer together and the ground is less visible, a more intense green contrasts with where there are fewer plants and then this kind of agriculture art is created.’
The farmer is not the only fan to show his love of Lionel Messi.
One devoted football fanatic showed off his unique tribute to the World Cup hero by getting the Argentine captain’s face shaved into the back of his head.
The stunning ‘hair tattoo’ creation was carried out by Antonio, known as Anton Barber, in the Dominican Republic.

Mike Jambs inked the word Messi on his forehead, three stars on one of his cheeks for each of Argentina’s World Cup victories and D10S on his other cheek
However, one Messi fan who had the footballer’s name tattooed on his face after Argentina’s World Cup triumph later said he regretted what he did.
Colombian influencer Mike Jambs inked the word Messi on his forehead, three stars on one of his cheeks for each of the World Cups Argentina has won and D10S on the other which is a combination of the Spanish word for God with the player’s famous number 10 shirt.
He initially defended his decision against attacks from critics who branded him stupid after he posted footage of him having his bizarre tattoo done on his Instagram site, insisting: ‘I’m not harming anyone, I’m not doing anything illegal.’
But overnight he admitted he wished he could now turn the clock back, admitting: ‘I regret having done the tattoo because instead of bringing me positive things, it’s led to lots of negative things, both personally and for my family.
