Liverpool fans have swooned over their new home kit, with some fans declaring they’ve already fallen in love – but other fans have joked they’ve already seen it before
Liverpool fans have fallen in love with their new home shirt, which was unveiled on social media on Friday morning.
The Reds released a short video on their Twitter, captioned: “It’s here… and it’s beautiful. Introducing our new 2023/24 @nikefootball home kit, inspired by the classic strip of ’73/74!” The video shows an old photo booth with Polaroid snaps of the new kit.
And Reds stars such as Darwin Nunez and Trent Alexander-Arnold can be seen modelling the new strip. Liverpool fans were quick to praise the shirt, with its white tips on a deep red – however, some thought they’d seen it before.
“OK, yeah, I’m in love,” one fan tweeted. And a second responded: “The best Liverpool kit in a long time!”
“First awesome @LFC kit by @Nike. I can’t resist buying it. Hopefully, the away and third kits are also the classics,” a third added. And a fourth said: “We kept it simple for once, no wacky colours being added into the mix that just felt weird or off the colour palette.”
However, others joked Liverpool had just copied the Manchester United shirt from 2021/22: “Thought I’d seen this kit before!” And another added: “Ahahahahahaha why have you got a United shirt!”

However, if the kit is to be worn in the Champions League next season, Jurgen Klopp’s side face a tough task following a poor campaign for the Reds.
Liverpool are currently fifth in the Premier League, finishing their season strong with five wins on the spin. The Reds are four points off United, who have a game in hand over Klopp’s side.
Brighton, who beat United on Thursday evening, could also leapfrog the Reds as they sit four points adrift, but have two games in hand.
