Bepo’s new transformation couldn’t have come at a better time. Here’s all there is to know about his Sulong Form.
One Piece has been edging closer and closer toward the conclusion of the Egghead arc. It is the first of the many arcs in the final saga of One Piece, and so far, it has proven to be absolutely incredible. The vast array of fights, information, and world-building in this particular arc has been nothing short of amazing. Given the fact that there is still some time left, Oda has been trying to make as many big revelations as possible before he wraps up the arc.
One such reveal came in Chapter 1081. Previously, fans had seen Trafalgar Law and his crew fighting Blackbeard at Winner Island. The two members of the Worst Generation were engaged in a duel, and the winner would take the Road Poneglyphs from the loser. The conclusion of this fight was ultimately disclosed in the latest chapter. Blackbeard was confirmed the victor as expected.
What Law’s Defeat Means For The Story
Trafalgar Law is one of the main characters in the story. He has been traveling with the Straw Hats since the Pink Hazard arc. Together, they have achieved many great things, such as taking down Doflamingo, destroying the SMILE factories, and freeing Wano from the clutches of Kaido and the Beasts Pirates.
While he is not on the same level as Luffy, Law is still an excellent fighter. This was evidenced by his fight with Big Mom, in which Law carried Kid to victory. If it weren’t for Law’s Ope Ope no Mi, Kid would have lost the fight, and Big Mom would have regrouped with Kaido and killed Luffy. Law’s Devil Fruit powers prevented Big Mom’s voice from reaching the homies, and without them, she couldn’t fight as efficiently. Furthermore, it was Law who landed the final hit on Big Mom and sent her to her doom. After the alliance’s victory over Kaido and Big Mom, Law, Luffy, and Kid became the front-runners to claim the One Piece. Nobody was expecting Law and Kid to suffer crushing defeats so quickly following the end of the Wano Country arc. With Law and Kid out of the race, it seems that Luffy’s rivals are now Blackbeard and Shanks. Blackbeard very likely has three Road Poneglyphs, the same as Luffy. It is unknown how many Road Poneglyphs Shanks has, but it would be plausible to assume that he at least has two of them. The Kid Pirates had their ship destroyed, and they were sent to the bottom of the sea. Law’s fate, on the other hand, was a bit different.
Saving His Captain
After defeating Law, Blackbeard was considering the possibility of using the Ope Ope no Mi for his personal gain. Bepo understood the severity of the situation, so he decided to consume the medicine given to him by Chopper. Once he ate the medicine, Bepo underwent a transformation that resembled the Sulong form of the Minks. Blackbeard and his crew members were taken aback by Bepo’s new form.
They couldn’t believe that he used the Sulong form without the presence of a full moon. Bepo used his new power to attack the enemies, after which he grabbed Trafalgar Law and went away. If Bepo had not taken the risk of eating Chopper’s medicine, Law would have very likely died. The Blackbeard Pirates have already killed multiple Devil Fruits, and it wouldn’t have mattered if they murdered another.
Bepo’s Sulong
Bepo’s Sulong form greatly increased his physical strength and speed. He was able to knock back Blackbeard and Van Augur rather effortlessly. Bepo even threw a giant rock at the Blackbeard Pirates, which gave him enough time to escape from the island with his captain. Due to his limited screen time, it is tough to gauge the exact power of Bepo. But judging by the feats of the previous characters who have unlocked the Sulong, it is safe to say that Bepo’s combative abilities improve significantly. Bepo is great at using martial arts, and using them in his Sulong form would improve the potency of his attacks. There are some fans who believe that Bepo’s transformation is not his Sulong form. Instead, it is a monster form that he achieved by possibly eating something resembling a Rumble Ball. This is a genuine claim, but there isn’t much evidence to support it.
Now that Bepo has escaped with Law, it will be interesting to see where they will be heading. The only allies that they have left are the Straw Hat Pirates, who are caught in a very big mess at Egghead Island. The Heart Pirates have also visited Amazon Lily, but it doesn’t seem that Boa Hancock will let any other man other than Luffy dock on the island, especially after Blackbeard’s attack. Bepo could try and persuade the Cross Guild into taking them in. While this may seem outrageous, the organization does have enough manpower to fend off the Marines and possibly the Blackbeard Pirates.
