Messi fever is gripping Barcelona.
Rumours that the Argentinian was in Spain started doing the rounds over the weekend when reports surfaced that Lionel Messi arrived in the country with his family and 15 suitcases.
While there was very little evidence of that at first, footage has now emerged of the World Cup winner. El Chiringuito TV captured footage of Messi cycling in the neighbourhood of Castelldefels, Tribuna reported.
Messi was spotted cycling back to his home, while some fans hung outside trying to get autographs.
Many believe that Messi is back in Spain to work out a return to Barcelona. The Argentinian is out of contract at the end of the season and has yet to agree on a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona are desperate to get him back, but Barca Universal reported that his visit may not be transfer related.
The publication reported that Messi isn’t in Barcelona to discuss a transfer, and has no plans to meet with the club. Instead, it’s alleged that Messi’s visit is just to enjoy Spain and make the most of his time off.
PSG’s next game is only on Sunday, April 30, and players have been given a break until April 26.
While Messi may not have any plans to meet with the club, if reports are to be believed, Barcelona have made it no secret that they want the former star back.
The Argentinian superstar left the club to join Paris Saint-Germain in France, but fans and management desperately want him back at Camp Nou, Sports Brief reported.
Fans made their feelings known as they chanted his name in the 10th minute during their game with Atletico Madrid. Messi wore the number 10 while at the Spanish giants.
