Paris Hilton tried to keep the news about the birth of her son private for as long as possible. The 42-year-old revealed that she didn’t even tell her closest family members that she was about to become a mom. And while this might be surprising to hear, we agree that all mothers should do what makes them feel comfortable because their well-being should always come first.
The socialite shared on her Instagram that she and her husband Carter Reum welcomed their first child via surrogate, a baby boy named Phoenix. But while the news became viral as soon as she broke it, Paris revealed that even her closest family members didn’t know that she was about to become a mom. She admitted, ’’Not even my mom, my sisters, my best friend knew until he was over a week old.’’

Paris explained that she wanted to keep the exciting event just between her and her husband for the first few days. She noted, ’’It was really nice to have that with Carter, to be on our own journey together. I just feel like my life has been so public, and I’ve never really had anything be just mine.’’ The businesswoman added, ’’I really felt that I wanted this journey to be for us only.’’
Despite their secrecy, Hilton admitted that the couple was ’’excited’’ to share the news with their families, but at the same time, they felt ’’nervous’’ about it. She explained that if they told someone, chances were that the news would be spread by word of mouth. This is why she and Carter ’’made a pact together’’ that they wouldn’t tell anyone, and this is exactly what they did.
Hilton went on to reveal that her mother, Kathy, didn’t meet Phoenix until about a week after he was born. She spoke about the magical moment, saying, ’’When I introduced my mom to our baby boy, it was amazing to see the look on her face. She was so surprised.’’
