BLACKPINK’s Jisoo recently appeared on Park Myung Soo’s YouTube show and talked about being a global idol.
During the show, Jisoo talked about preparing for her first solo single album and shared, “I’ve released a solo album after 7 years. I was the last (in the group) to have a solo release. So the members who went solo before me, shared what was hard (about their solo), like ‘Oh if you did this, it was hard.’ Their insights made it easier and helped me better prepare for my solo debut.”
Park Myung Soo then became curious about promoting globally as one of the most influential K-pop groups. He became curious if Jisoo speaks English since Jisoo has been traveling worldwide. He asked, “So you’re pretty good speaking English now, right?” And Jisoo instantaneously replied, “Nope.”
Jisoo explained that she doesn’t have much to do for English interviews since Lisa, Rose, and Jennie all speak English fluently. She explained, “I just don’t talk much.” Jisoo explained she understands English but doesn’t bother to be the one to speak. She elaborated, “Because we have members who are much better (at speaking English). So I don’t really need to (talk).”
She continued to make Park Myung Soo and fans laugh when she gave tips on how to react when being overseas: put up two thumbs saying “Good,” clap, and lift one thumb up while saying, “Perfect.” She added to the laughter when she confessed that she uses Papago, a Korean translation app when she needs to order food at a restaurant.
Fans love Jisoo’s lovable and honest personality and commented, “She’s so honest,” “She’s so cute,” “She’s so pretty and I love her personality. She seems so down-to-earth and cool,” “She’s so awesome. I would feel stressed if the other members speak English but I’m the only one who doesn’t but she’s so cool with it,” “I’m so envious of her personality,” “She is just too cute,” and “I love how honest she is.”
