Whether it be the WWE ring or the stage of the Hollywood industry, there is no denying that Dwayne Johnson, popularly called The Rock by his fans, will do everything in his power to dominate and excel in making a name for himself. This unrelenting and fastidious nature of the star has made him one of the biggest celebrities in the world.

And though he might’ve fumbled with his superhero debut in the DCEU as Black Adam, he still strives on after taking his leave from the franchise. But that doesn’t mean the star has any plans of stopping, as new reports suggest that The Rock might be getting a big payday for his contributions in the upcoming Moana live-action adaptation.

While he might’ve had a rough start at the beginning of his life with just $7 to his name, Dwayne Johnson made it a mission to become one of the most successful individuals in the world, both financially and professionally. Although he might’ve suffered a major setback in the form of the box office bomb that was Black Adam, he might just be able to bring himself on track with his upcoming project.

After recent reports from sources suggest that Johnson is trying to make a strong comeback, it seems like the Baywatch star is going back to one of the biggest films of his career. In 2016, Johnson was scouted to voice the character of the Samoan demigod of legend Maui in Disney’s Moana, which earned a whopping $683 Million. This meant that the star was taking home a staggering salary of $21 Million.
Thus, his production company, Seven Bucks Productions, is all set to bring the animated adventure into the live-action world as the Central Intelligence star is in talks with Disney to make this happen. While the discussions are underway, many have speculated the amount of money that the star stands to gain from the success of the proposed film. Considering the fact that The Rock will be the producer of the film, he might very well get a large percentage cut from the total revenue of the film.
And if we take a cut of nine percent into hypothetical consideration, the star is set to earn a gargantuan $57 Million paycheck if the live-action adaptation will earn just as much as its animated counterpart did. This is sure to bring Dwayne Johnson back and better than ever.

Why Did Black Adam Fail?
Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam
While Dwayne Johnson might’ve wanted to make one of the biggest impacts in the superhero genre of films with his debut in Black Adam, the effort fell short in practice. The major problem with the film was the sheer amount of re-shoots the film had to go through to make it pleasing for the audience, which jacked up the total production cost of the film to $210 Million. The cost wasn’t worth the return of $393 Million, which was the reason why James Gunn decided to drop the franchise altogether.
This, mixed with the deviations from the comic book source material and lackluster story were also major factors in the film’s failure.
