Marcus Rashford jetted off to New York over the international break with his stunning WAG Lucia Loi – and it’s now been revealed he chartered a Boeing 737 to the tune of £240,000 to take them there
Marcus Rashford spent £240,000 to whisk his stunning fiancee away from Manchester to the Big Apple at the end of March.
Rashford took the opportunity during his downtime to charter a Boeing 737 from Manchester to New York to spend some romantic time with Lucia Loi. The plane, which was just for the two of them, normally holds 124 passengers.
One source told The Mirror: “It was a grand gesture. Marcus is loved up.” The Manchester United star had been on the international break, where he had been ruled out of England contention due to an injury picked up while he was at the Red Devils.
Rashford shared a couple of snaps from his loved-up holiday – the first he posed with Lucia at the Bethesda Fountain, the iconic landmark found in Central Park.
The second snap showed Rashford barely recognisable as he covered up for New York’s cold weather. With a buff pulled up over his nose and a black hat covering his facial features, Rashford captioned the snap: “Downtime”.
Gareth Southgate defended the trip, which came after he pulled out of the England squad with injury. He said: “Once Marcus is ruled out of the squad, it’s entirely up to him how he spends his time.”
Rashford has found his feet again this campaign under the watchful eye of Erik ten Hag – and the Englishman is currently the Red Devils’ top scorer this season with 28 goals.
However, Rashford is currently facing more time on the sidelines after he limped off the field against Everton earlier this month. However, Ten Hag is still confident in his squad: “We have many more players across the squad who can score.
“I think we have players like Bruno, like Jadon Sancho, like Anthony Martial, like Scott McTominay, like Antony. We have enough players with the capabilities to score goals, definitely.”
