Manchester City have had a bid of £34.5million rejected for Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe, according to French newspaper L’Equipe.
The 17-year-old became Monaco’s youngest-ever scorer last season when he found the net in added time as his side beat Troyes 3-1 in February, but has made just 14 appearances to date having also represented his country at this summer’s European Under 19 Championships.
He started Monaco’s opening game of the Ligue 1 season against Guigamp on August 12, but was stretchered off after just 41 minutes and has not played since.

The young striker is a target for a host of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Manchester City.
City, who have spent more than £160m during Pep Guardiola’s first transfer window in charge, have denied making a bid for the teenager.
Mbappe has been coveted by Europe’s biggest clubs for many years, after he was invited for a training ground tour at Chelsea aged 11 and was welcomed to Real Madrid by Zinedine Zidane three years later.
He is also admired by Spanish giants Barcelona, who L’Equipe are reporting have made contact with Monaco regarding a potential transfer ahead of next season.
Mbappe is also a target for Barcelona, while Chelsea and Real Madrid have also shown interest
Mbappe remains under contract with the principality club until the summer of 2019.
Monaco have a history of selling teenage talent to Manchester, with Anthony Martial moving from Stade Louis II to Manchester United for £36m last summer.
United also paid more than £30m for Luke Shaw when he was 19, but both players had substantially more experience than Mbappe.
