Vin Diesel’s Family

Vin Diesel has had an incredibly successful career as an action movie superstar! The actor — whose real name is Mark Sinclair — is perhaps best known for playing Dominic Toretto throughout all of the ‘Fast & Furious’ movies, but he’s also been incredibly successful as a voice actor, lending his talents as Groot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, mainly the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ films.
He also voiced the titular character in the acclaimed 1999 children’s movie ‘The Iron Giant.’ While most of his movies are action-packed, he’s played a variety of roles from the serious drama ‘Saving Private Ryan’ to action-driven blockbusters to more family-oriented comedies like ‘The Pacifier.’
While Vin is most well-known as an actor, he’s also a family man. He’s been dating Mexican model Paloma Jimenez since 2007, and the pair have two daughters and a son together.

Vin credited his later ‘Fast & Furious’ co-star Paul Walker with leading him towards fatherhood. He offered a hearfelt message while promoting Walker’s charity on Instagram in Sep. 2016.
“He must’ve been God-sent, because he put me on the right path. He set me up,” Diesel said. “When we did the first ‘Fast & Furious,’ I was already 30 years old or something, but he was a father. So when we were in the cars in between takes, he would tell me, ‘Hey, Vin, it’s not a scary thing to become a father,’ (and) give me all this good advice. Next thing I know, I am a dad.”
Vin added, “Paul was very, very instrumental for me in my segue into fatherhood. He was the one that told me to go to the hospital. … He’s the one that told me to cut the umbilical cord! He was the only that knew, in California, that I was about to have a child.”

Vincent appeared in ‘F9’ playing Vin’s character Dom’s son. The actor revealed it was director Justin Lin’s idea to include Vincent while appearing on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ in June 2021.
“We’ve been making these movies for so long, that every time one of my children were born, I was usually working on a Fast and Furious movie,” Vin explained. “So the director and the cast all have their own relationship with my children. And it was [Lin’s] idea for my son to play young Dom.”

Vin revealed how much he “leaned on” friend and co-star Paul Walker when he was alive. He told Access, “I leaned on him when I transitioned [to fatherhood]. He was my rock.
He went on, “[Paul] was the one that said— the irony is what the roles that we had and the scenes that we had that discussed fatherhood in Fast Five and throughout the franchise in real life were reversed. To the point where, as you know, my youngest child, when I was in the delivery room and writing down her name, even my mom to this day says, ‘Pablo [Vin’s nickname for Paul] was in the room with you.’ And that’s why I wrote Pauline.”

“Everyone had known me just as a bouncer in New York because I wasn’t able to get any work. There was something too ambiguous about the way I look that would prevent me from ever getting a star,” he went on before adding, “As my daughter says, ‘Dreams do come true’.”
