The Chicago Bulls need just one more win.
It’s been a long road to get to where the Chicago Bulls are right now. The roller-coaster ride, though, has brought the Bulls on the verge of officially clinching a spot in the NBA Play-in tournament. A victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night will book the Bulls a ticket to the play-in, where they’ll get a shot at making it to the postseason.
Still chasing a higher seed
At 38-40, the Bulls are currently 10th place in Eastern Conference standings, four games ahead of the Washington Wizards for the last ticket to the Play-in. Chicago is also a game behind the Hawks and the Toronto Raptors for either the eighth or ninth seed. However, since the Raptors own the tiebreaker over the Bulls, Chicago needs to finish with a record that is better than Toronto’s to leapfrog them in the standings.
Meanwhile, the tiebreaker with the Hawks remains open as the Bulls have won two out of their first three games this season prior to their clash on Tuesday.
Tough schedule ahead
The Bulls have a rough road ahead of them as the season winds down. Apart from the Hawks, Chicago has games against Milwaukee and Dallas on the road, and then at home vs. Detroit. The Pistons may have the worst record in the league, but they remain a tough out. Meanwhile, the Bucks have the best record in the league and are keen on winning every game left on their schedule to lock down the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Mavericks, on the other hand, are scratching and clawing to keep their hopes for the Play-in alive.
