Bella, a beautiful German shepherd, was born and lived the first year of her life in unusual circumstances. Bella lived her whole life outside on a third floor balcony in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, where she ate, slept and waited for her owner to show her love. Bella was chained in place to keep her safe on the balcony and prevent her from walking across the tiny, hard, hard balcony.
The dogs have proven to be incredibly tough and able to withstand harsh conditions. Bella decided to run away when the abuse became unbearable to her.
Bella was spotted throwing herself off the balcony to reach the ground and find freedom. He almost died, but this decision saved him.
The dog jumped off the balcony, startling onlookers who watched in horror as its descent was suddenly halted by the heavy chain around its neck. Before anyone could reach the balcony and pick Bella up, she was attached to it for over five hours. Miraculously, Bella survived, but the chain severely injured her neck, going through the muscle. Bella was very malnourished which made her bones visible all over her body.
Bella finally made a full recovery thanks to the efforts of many and now has a canine brother, lives in Texas with her forever family and enjoys going to the park, playing in the water.
