The Caribbean is famed for its white sands and soothing waters. But it seems Pep Guardiola didn’t get the memo.
The Manchester City boss was caught unawares by the lapping waves in Barbados while on a well-earned holiday after securing his fourth Premier League title at the club in five seasons.
Guardiola made a hurried retreat back to shore but isn’t put off for too long as he enjoys all the sunshine and sea breeze on offer together with his wife Cristina Serra.

The City boss must be feeling pretty content right now, both on holiday on the paradise island and with matters back at the Etihad.
He addressed the rumours regarding his future at City back in April, signing a new deal that will keep him in Manchester until 2025.
Guardiola then secured the title and, perhaps most significantly for the peace of mind that allows him to swim and frolic carefree in the Caribbean, he nailed down his number one transfer target, Erling Haaland, at the very start of the summer window.

The City boss can’t completely disconnect, however, as he is seen engrossed in his phone
Yet it seems despite all the trappings of beautiful Barbados, Guardiola may still be keeping tabs on happenings back in European football, with the City boss snapped engrossed in his phone at the resort.
Perhaps he is just looking through the day’s selfies, but given everything known about how meticulous Guardiola is, he is more than likely checking on the transfer situation regarding two of his senior players, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling.
Jesus is being heavily pursued by Arsenal, with Tottenham having ended their interest in the Brazilian, while Chelsea are keen to bring Sterling to west London.
City themselves remain quietly busy in the transfer window, with Guardiola looking at bringing in goalkeeper Stefan Ortega to replace Zack Steffen.
It may also be that Guardiola is keeping an eye on how his neighbours, Manchester United, are faring in overhauling their squad under new boss Erik ten Hag. On that front, the City boss can keep relaxing on the beach for now.
Given the turmoil on the other side of Manchester, Guardiola can likely truly relax on holiday
