While Dwayne Johnson is making noise in Hollywood for over a decade now, we simply cannot ignore his previous career. The Rock made a huge name in WWE as the top superstar before he left for an acting career. ‘The Brahma Bull’ is an all-time great in WWE and in the legendary Anoa’i family, but it seems Roman Reigns doesn’t think so.
It seems The Tribal Chief wants to face The Rock in a match at a major WWE event. Moreover, this recent instance may be a jibe by Reigns at DJ
Roman Reigns unexpectedly doesn’t acknowledge Dwayne Johnson
The recent episode of AE WWE Rivals featured the Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar feud. While recollecting the history of ‘The Head of the Table’, Reigns talked about elite WWE stars from his family. However, he didn’t specifically mention The Rock in that list.
Reigns said, “If you really wanna know who Roman Reigns is, you have to understand who Joe Anoa’i is. I was born and breed to be in that ring. This is just where we come from.”
He added, “My family is always obviously (has been) super grand in the business. My father Sika, and my uncle Afa. My cousins Yokozuna, Rikishi, Umaga, and The Usos. The Rock’s grandfather Peter Maivia.”
The episode did show DJ, but Reigns, referred only to The Rock’s grandfather, ‘High Chief’ Peter Maivia. This could be a simple miss from Reigns or maybe an intentional jibe at Johnson after he didn’t show to face him despite their being strong rumors about it.
There were talks of The People’s Champion returning to WWE this year, but that didn’t happen because of him not being in ring shape. But his family is waiting to see him in the ring one more time.
Nevertheless, Reigns has an opponent, Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The feud is for the titles, but as WrestleMania 39 approaches, the match has become about the honor of their family legacies.
Sika is proud of his Roman Reigns
‘The Needlemover’ returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2020 and quickly cemented an impression of not being a good guy anymore. Over the past two years, he has achieved tremendous success and his father WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa’i, who was part of the Wild Samoans tag team, is proud of him.
The former three-time WWE tag team champion said, “He’s making, his dream come true and he is making my dream and also his family proud.”
Reigns has already made his family proud, and The Bloodline has ruled WWE for a couple of years now. The Wild Samoans also appeared at Hell in a Cell to Acknowledge Roman Reigns as The Tribal Chief.
