Manchester United’s Old Trafford toilets ‘flooded with urine’ while supporters attended their Premier League clash against Southampton with a viral video showing fans having to walk through it.
A 25-second clip uploaded to social media shows liquid bubbling up through a drainage system – with the club insisting that they were made aware of the blocked drain with the issue swiftly resolved.
Ste Conlon, who goes by the name Mancunian Red, shared the video to his Twitter followers, where it gained 2.7 million views in 18 hours.

He included the caption: “Just arrived at Old Trafford and not for the first time the toilets are over flooded with an inch of urine al over the floor.
“Disgusting to see. This is what the Glazers don’t want you to see. It’s that bad and has happened so many times I had to video it.”
With the video posted after United’s 0-0 draw at Southampton, fans shared it in their numbers with more than 3000 retweets the morning after the contest.

One United fan said in response: “It was like this in 2015 when I was working there, it’s disgusting.”
A second agreed: “They also look like they are straight from 2001. This shouldn’t be the standards of the ‘biggest club in the world’.”
A third posted: “We spent £180m on two wingers instead of fixing the old toilet….”

A fourth added: “When I tell people that Old Trafford is one of the worst two PL grounds in the country they don’t believe me. It’s falling apart inside, it’s a shambles.”
With the Glazer family heavily criticised for their use of funds, Gary Neville urged them to fix Old Trafford which was last renovated back in 2006.
Speaking on The Overlap, he said last year: “It does probably need knocking down to be fair. It doesn’t need renovating, it needs a new stadium.”

While admitting that the iconic ground was ‘rusting’, Neville added on Sky Sports: “I do think that Manchester United should always be at the forefront of stadiums. Have the best facilities and they have fallen behind.”
Although the Glazer family have been linked with a full sale of their shares, a recent update suggested they would keep the club but call for fresh investment.
With Sir Jim Ratcliffe openly expressing his interest, a Qatari consortium led by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani have also been linked.
