Anne Hathaway weighed in on whether Adrian Grenier’s character Nate Cooper was the true villain of her 2006 hit film The Devil Wears Prada during Monday night’s Watch What Happens Live.
Nate spends much of the movie frustrated that his journalist girlfriend Andy Sachs (Hathaway) is always at the beck and call of Runway magazine editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep).

‘I think that they were both very young and figuring things out. And he did behave like a brat, but I also behaved like a brat in my 20s. I hopefully grew out of it, and I think that’s what we all do. I wouldn’t want to be defined by my worst moment in my 20s certainly. So I don’t hold Nate as a villain actually.’
David Frankel’s big-screen adaptation of Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel scored a 75% critic approval rating (out of 195 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes and amassed $326.7M at the global box office.
It was Anne’s second time appearing on the boozy Bravo talk show, and she gushed on Instagram: ‘I had so much fun with Victoria Beckham and Salty Spice herself, Andy Cohen.’
Last Saturday, Hathaway’s ‘incandescent buddy’ Jessica Chastain revealed she would love to remake Death Becomes Her with her someday.

The $15M-budget coming-of-age family drama – also starring Anthony Hopkins, Jeremy Strong, Tovah Feldshuh, and Banks Repeta – received a seven-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19.
The talented twosome also worked together in Christopher Nolan’s 2014 sci-fi flick Interstellar and in Benoît Delhomme’s upcoming psychological thriller Mothers’ Instinct.
