Margot Robbie showed off her effortless style while leaving The Bowery Hotel in New York City on Thursday.
The Babylon star, 32, looked casual cool in a black t-shirt, high-waisted blue denim pants, a black beanie and a matching black coat.
The Australian beauty – who recently discussed the similarities between herself and her Babylon character – sported a black face mask and finalized her outfit with a pair of white sneakers.
Margot had a purse slung over her shoulder, and carried a brown paper bag in her hand during the outing.
The Wolf of Wall Street actress’ long blonde tresses were styled in gentle waves, as they cascaded from underneath her hat.
Robbie recently opened up about the similarities between herself and the character she plays in her new movie Babylon.
The actress said both she and her character Nellie LaRoy are highly driven women determined to make it big in showbusiness.
‘I definitely relate to Nellie’s drive. She’s hell-bent on making it in Hollywood,’ Margot told The Australian.
She added: ‘When you get to Hollywood, there are so many people wanting the same thing. You just need to want it more than everyone else.’
Margot added that, like Nellie, she was determined to get her ‘foot in the door’ and did everything she could to make it happen.
Margot started her career as teen heart-throb Donna Freedman on Neighbours before getting her big break opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street.
In the Martin Scorsese-directed movie, she played DiCaprio’s feisty and flirtatious wife Naomi Lapaglia.
She cemented her status as one of the hottest women in Hollywood three years later after landing the role of Harley Quinn in 2016’s Suicide Squad.
Recently a wild theory about the star’s fashion choices has taken over Twitter, with users claiming the star is deliberately dressing badly to distract from her beauty, which in turn encourages people to take her more seriously as an actress.
Despite topping lists of the most beautiful women in the world, fashion commentators have bemoaned many of Robbie’s red carpet looks – saying her stylist is missing the mark with ‘ill-fitting’ and ‘awkward’ dresses.
Discussing her latest look – a custom-made version of a vintage Versace gown that she wore to the Sydney premiere of Babylon – one fan suggested Margot doesn’t want to be seen as ‘too beautiful’ in order to get a variety of roles.
‘My theory is she does it to hide her beauty so she still has interesting opportunities,’ they speculated on Twitter.
‘Can you imagine if she choose to play up her beauty and shine?
‘She’s made to play Barbie but we know that movie is going to be unhinged, much like Margot’s glam squad.’
After a series of suggestive roles, Margot said she didn’t want to be seen as ‘just sexy’ and opted to play the complex Tonya Harding in the 2016 biopic I, Tonya, which garnered her an Oscar nomination.
In an interview with Woman’s Day that year, the actress-turned-producer spoke of her desire to not fall into a certain stereotype because of her sex appeal.
‘I want to keep looking for roles where the main interest will be in the character and her importance in driving a story forward, rather than her relationship with a male character,’ she said.
‘Films like The Wolf of Wall Street and Focus gave me a chance to play charismatic and clever women, even though they do have a glamorous side.’
