After the lineup however, it has been confirmed by James Gunn and Peter Safran that Jason Momoa will reprise his role as Aquaman in Aquaman 3. With Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom nearing the horizon for its release date, the news of Aquaman 3 is truly exciting for DC fans. The chaos, however, ensued when the possibility of Momoa portraying two different characters in the same universe came to light.
The people took to Twitter and asked whether the See actor would continue with his Aquaman role or whether he will pick up new endeavors and adventures as DC’s Lobo.
Much like the confused atmosphere at DC, the people are also confused as to what the newly made DCU is capable of. With confirmed news that Henry Cavill would not be representing Superman in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s world, they will need to assemble a fresh Justice League pretty soon.

Although DC Universe has been confusing at times, there have been multiple iterations of Batman and Superman. Jason Momoa portraying Aquaman and Lobo at the same time could be a very well-made project… if executed properly.
With connecting storylines or alter egos, the two opposite characters of Aquaman and Lobo could meet in the middle for a final battle or co-exist in the universe in their separate ways. Jason Momoa could very well pull off the dual facade of Lobo and Aquaman but there is a catch. The Justice League actor has been attached to the upcoming Fast X and various other projects that might keep him busy.
With DCU allegedly getting a soft reboot, priority would be naturally given to Aquaman and not a lot to Lobo. With Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom set for a release date of 25th December 2023, the future of DCU will be worth watching for sure.
