Former striker Michael Owen has criticized Liverpool summer signing Darwin Nunez, saying the Uruguayan is making too many mistakes.
According to Owen, the 24-year-old striker is behaving as if he is untrained when he is constantly in trouble in front of goal.
The South American had a rough start to his career at Anfield as he struggled to score. Nunez joined Jurgen Klopp’s side from Benfica in a deal worth £85m last summer.
He scored 48 goals in 85 games at Estadio da Luiz before moving to Anfield. Owen told Premier League Productions: “He makes so many mistakes. I can’t believe he’s playing so inexperienced at the moment.”
” It looks like he hasn’t been coached much during his career. I think Liverpool can coach him properly and help him learn from experience.”
The Reds have just had another disappointing game this season when they lost 1-3 to Brentford. From the candidate who competed for the throne last season, they are currently struggling to compete for the top 4.
