Kevin Durant’s Friend And Co-Host Takes A Shot At Giannis Antetokounmpo: “You Are Boring. You Don’t Make Jumpers. You Don’t Dribble Well.”

Nobody can deny that Giannis Antetokounmpo is among the best in the world at what he does given his six All-Star selections, six NBA All-Star selections, two MVP awards, and NBA Championship.

But apparently, not everyone appreciates the way he plays the game.

In an appearance on FanDuel TV this week, Eddie Gonzalez (friend of Kevin Durant and co-host of ‘The ETCs’ podcast) revealed his thoughts about the Greek Freak and shocked the world with his latest take on the Bucks superstar.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

According to Gonzalez, Giannis is a boring player who isn’t as fun to watch as Steph or Kyrie.

“I love Giannis. I love the kind of aloofness and the personality he brings. He’s up there reading dad jokes and he’s got the bell with his wife and all this stuff and it’s cool. You are kinda boring. You don’t make jumpers. You don’t really dribble that well. There is some stuff that we don’t like whereas we watch Kyrie or Steph an they’re way more aesthetically pleasing.”

Those are certainly harsh words, but is there any truth to them? While Giannis may be the most dominant player in today’s NBA, many would agree that he’s not the most exciting. He can’t shoot threes like Steph or dribble circles around defenders like Kyrie.

But none of that matters to the Bucks or their fans and it certainly doesn’t matter to Giannis because he’s not worried about being the most watchable player. When it comes to basketball, Giannis only focused on one thing: winning a championship.

Can Giannis Lead The Bucks To Another Title This Season?

As the haters continue to pile up around Antetokounmpo, the Bucks are showing some signs of weakness.

They have cooled off after a 9-0 start and have one of the worst offenses in basketball. But they are still 3rd in the East with one of the best records in the NBA. When Khris Middleton comes back healthy (again), they should go back to being the team we saw early on in the season.

According to Giannis, however, the Bucks just need to stop being complacent.

“I think being complacent. We are being comfortable. We just expect to, I don’t know, (that) people are just going to hand us games. It doesn’t work that way. I think you have to go out there and kind of take it. You have to go out there and play good basketball, build good habits, defend and kind of, you know, compete.”

Only time will tell how this season plays out for the Bucks.

As for Giannis, he’s going to let everything else play itself out. While he may not be the flashiest of stars to some, or the most exciting, he does what he needs to do in order to win basketball games and that’s really all that matters.

This season, no matter how fans feel about his playstyle, Antetokounmpo isn’t going to hold back or change his game for anyone.
