For the better part of the last decade, Jeremy Renner had done an exceptional job of playing the role of MCU’s resident super archer Hawkeye.
Joining the crew in 2012’s The Avengers, Clint Barton became one of the six integral parts of the superhero team along and saved the world countless times from disaster.
Along the way, he has made many friends, including his co-stars, who have got matching Avengers tattoos to commemorate their bonds.
And after his recent appearance as the Avenger in Disney+ original Hawkeye, Renner has decided to hang his bow and quiver and leave the role of the superhero behind. And after his retirement, he decided to take a long vacation from the MCU and the industry.
Jeremy Renner Is Unapologetic For Sl*t-Shaming Scarlett Johansson
Although many say that he is a blast to be around and work with, he has his fair share of instances where he might’ve gone a bit too far. Jeremy Renner has recently been in an accident with his snow-plowing machine, which had apparently gone out of control and injured his legs, leading to a massive loss of blood. Fortunately, even after being in critical condition, the Tag star made it safely out of danger. With the recent incident, people can’t help but think if this is karmic retribution.

A few months back in 2022, the internet was furious with Renner and Chris Evans after it was revealed that both of them had made derogatory comments about their co-star Scarlett Johansson, calling her character Black Widow a sl*t. While Evans was quick to realize this and apologize soon enough, Renner’s apology seemed to be lacking sincerity. Even when he was being interviewed on Conan on TBS, he seemed just as unapologetic as an innocent man. He said:
“I got in a lot of internet trouble. I guess that’s a thing now you can get in,” he said in part. “Now, mind you, I’m talking about a fictional character and fictional behavior, but Conan, if you slept with four of the six Avengers, no matter how much fun you had, you’d be a sl*t. Just saying. I’d be a sl*t.”
That unwillingness to accept the wrongdoing was felt by many fans who told him that he was just being a prick about it.
What’s Next For Jeremy Renner?
After his fantastic and final performance in the show Hawkeye, he has bid farewell to his character and is now on the hunt for more fulfilling roles to continue his career. As for what he will be doing after his full recovery, he has been reported to be a part of an upcoming drama movie based on the opioid crisis, where he will be playing the role of real-life investigator David Armstrong.
