The NBA is the world’s largest basketball league. Amazing athletes have a long history of being famous by showcasing their talents and undoubtedly leading their respective organizations to NBA Championships. Many great players have graced the hardwood throughout the league’s history, but when it comes to the GOAT discussion, it usually comes down to only two individuals.
Michael Jordan, the face of the league back in the 1990s, and LeBron James, who was the face of the NBA during the 2010s. The two superstars are great in their own way, but fans can’t stop themselves from comparing the two legends.
After taking a look at their career comparison, most tend to believe that Jordan is the GOAT. On the other hand, there is still a narrative around James one day surpassing the Bulls legend. But as of now, if there is an all-time GOAT pyramid, Mike is certainly sitting at the top, and that’s what Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant seems to think as well.
Kevin Durant On Michael Jordan And LeBron James
Kevin Durant recently sat down for an interview with former NBA star Jamal Crawford. During the interview, at one point, Crawford asked KD to play word association. Crawford proceeded to make Durant reveal his true thoughts about LeBron James and Michael Jordan.
(Starts at 0:35)
Crawford: Bron
KD: The greatest. The most accomplished. About to pass Kareem like damn that’s gonna be a day.
Crawford: Jordan
KD: The GOAT
Durant showed no hesitation when he heard MJ’s name. He certainly gave the first response that came to his mind. But that doesn’t mean that he disrespected LeBron. If anything, he heaped huge praise on him by calling him the most accomplished player.
Speaking of that, there are many great things that LeBron has done in his career, but his playoffs resume is unarguably one of the greatest. He can indeed turn things around come playoff time.
