Kitten Literally Fell Through a Ceiling Into the Heart of His New Mom!
Do cats really choose us? Definitely! Studies have shown that homeless cats will watch potential homes for days before deciding where they’ll live. Of course, not all cats roam the streets seeking their humans. There are other ways of attracting us! Cats have their own type of intuition about true cat lovers. Cats seem to have a super sense that leads them right up to your door (or ceiling) and inevitably into your life.
In a turn of events that sounds like it was ripped from the beginning of a children’s novel, Elle Haywood and her new feline companion, Asbestos, met in a very unusual situation.
28-year-old Ellie, a resident of Melbourne, Australia, and her roommates live in an old home. When a storm hit their area, Ellie and her roommates placed a few buckets out to catch the water that was leaking from the ceiling.
The rain ended up creating a hole in the roof deep and wide enough for something to fall through into Ellies’s bedroom.
Suddenly they heard scratching from the ceiling and after this a loud crash! When they looked closer they found a feral cat who ran away immediately, but who left behind a tiny kitten. A tiny kitten that Ellie decided to adopt on the spot.
“PART OF MY BEDROOM CEILING CAVED IN AND A KITTEN FELL OUT OF IT AND WE’RE KEEPING HIM WE’VE NAMED HIM ASBESTOS.” Ellie wrote on Instagram.
They named him Asbestos and even though he was initially snapping, hissing and biting now he is feeling really comfortable with his new mom.
Ellie is very happy about all of this calling it “a Christmas miracle”, although she does admits the absurdity behind the situation calling it “the most internet thing that’s ever happened to me.”
Asbestos has already turned into an internet celebrity. He has his own Instagram profile where you can follow him.
