Emma Watson has reportedly called it quits with her boyfriend Brandon Green – and she’s far from the first star to suffer a breakup after acknowledging her ‘Saturn Return’.
Saturn Return is an astrological transit that occurs when the planet returns to the same longitude it occupied at the moment of a person’s birth.
It is the astrological event that the likes of Adele and Katy Perry have credited for major shifts in their lives.
The Harry Potter star, 33, just last month said she had ‘learned more about love and being a woman’ thanks to Saturn Return, but she admitted she ‘felt really sad and really p**sed off about a lot of things’ too.
In the lengthy Instagram post Emma reflected on her ‘Saturn Return’ saying she’s learned ‘more about love’ after she ‘stepped away from my life.’

However Emma’s cryptic 33rd birthday post may have been a sign that she outgrew the relationship.
Now sources have indicated that they split some time after Christmas – following a ‘serious’ romance which lasted around 18 months.
Brandon, 29, who is the son of one-time King of the High Street Sir Philip Green, had a reputation as a party-lover and previously dated a number of models.
The former couple met each other’s parents and there were holidays including a romantic break in Venice last year.
According to horoscopic astrology, a Saturn Return is considered most likely to start in someone’s late 20s, commonly at the age of 27.
It is seen as a time of reaching full adulthood and being faced with, possibly for the first time, adult challenges and responsibilities.
Known as the ‘great teacher’ or ‘taskmaster’ planet, it is believed that the planet brings with it life lessons and learnings that have the potential to bring about challenges that reap long-term rewards.

Emma returned to Instagram earlier this month with a series of black and white pictures which showed her in various outfits that were taken during her birthday last year.
The British star captioned her post: ‘This is 33. Holy moly. Before 29 I hadn’t even heard of a Saturn Return as a concept. Let’s just say that now I am well acquainted.
‘I stepped away from my life – I learned to surf (badly), I rode some horses (that went better), I did a lot of therapy (YESS therapy!). My brother and I joined forces @renaisspirits. I adopted Sofia in Mexico, who seems to be an angel not a dog. We filmed a Harry Potter reunion.
She continued: ‘I said goodbye to my Grandma and Grandpa. I retraced my steps. I started a women’s environmental investment fund. I played Pickleball with @sugarrayleonard and I even played golf and then tried to make all of my girlfriends learn too.’
‘I cut my thumb nail off on both hands trying to cook for myself and then was only able to do things one handed for months. I felt really sad and really p**sed off about a lot of things. I learned more about love and being a woman.’
The Bling Ring star added: ‘It took me three years but I have finally figured out a daily practice and can actually keep it for more than a few days in a row. I burned some things down.
‘I eat green things now! I got obsessed with making Squarespace websites. I directed my first commercial.
She claimed she ‘learned more about love and being a woman’ thanks to the astrological transit
In astrology, a Saturn return occurs every 27 to 29.5 years, and represents new beginnings so it is believed everyone hits their Saturn return between the ages of 27 and 30
Singer Adele, pictured left, and Katy Perry, pictured right with ex-husband Russell Brand wrote about the phenomenon in their music after going through divorces
‘These pictures were actually taken on my birthday last year, but I wasn’t ready to come out of my Covid Cocoon. Today I feel (blue butterfly emoji). Thank you to the witches in my coven who were so pivotal in helping me arrive at where and who I am now. You are my Avengers and you inspire me and kick ass. It takes a village, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.’
While the actress once famously once confessed she is content being ‘self-partnered’ and it seems she’s focused once again on herself.
‘I never believed the whole ‘I’m happy single’ spiel,’ she told Vogue in 2017. ‘It took me a long time but I’m happy [being single].
Indeed, Emma is just the latest star to share with fans about the planetary upheaval in their lives with fellow Brit Adele explaining that the phenomenon played a part in her recent divorce.
Elsewhere, actresses Shailene Woodley and Megan Fox made it clear that they were entering their Saturn Return ready for the significant changes to come their way.

Adele raised eyebrows in 2021 when she revealed that the planet had played a part in her decision to change her life while making her album, 30.
The singer chose to end her seven-year marriage to Drop4Drop CEO Simon Konecki, with whom she shares 10-year-old son, Angelo.
Ahead of the release of her album, the 34-year-old shared a social media post in which she talked about the challenges she had experienced.
The Easy On Me artist wrote that she had been going through ‘the most turbulent period of my life’ and shared the comment made by a friend, saying of her emotional state: ‘It’s your Saturn return, babes.’
Adele went on to get a Saturn tattoo inked on her right forearm, after her ‘life was rocked’ by the planetary upheaval.
The Hello hitmaker explained to Vogue: ‘I hit my Saturn return. It’s where I lost the plot. When that comes, it can rock your life. It shakes you up a bit: Who am I? What do I want to do? What makes me truly happy? All those things.’
The hitmaker was also been seen wearing Saturn-shaped earrings during album promo
She has since gone on to wear jewelry inspired by her Saturn Return on several occasions, including her CBS special with Oprah Winfrey, Adele One Night Only.
The Someone Like You hitmaker wore a pair of Saturn-shaped earrings designed by Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry for the glamorous event.
Meanwhile, the singer famously transformed her figure during the years of her Return.
Though the singer has chosen not to go into details about her weight loss publicly, she told British Vogue she began to exercise ‘because of my anxiety’.
‘Working out, I would just feel better,’ she stated. ‘It was never about losing weight, it was always about becoming strong and giving myself as much time every day without my phone. I got quite addicted to it. I work out two or three times a day.’
The singer revealed she had been doing rigorous weight-lifting and circuit-training sessions every day – twice a day if her anxiety is running high – for three years prior to the 2021 interview.

Big Little Lies actress Shailene Woodley made it clear she was very aware about the changes she would experience during her Saturn Return.
The quirky star is well known for being in touch with nature after revealing she eats clay, makes her own medicines and collects a monthly spring water supply from mountains.
In numerous interviews, the self-proclaimed astrology freak revealed she was fully embracing the planetary upheaval.
When speaking to Who What Wear, the 31-year-old explained: ‘But I deeply believe that if things have been around for thousands of years, then there must be some wisdom in there.’
The actress claimed that there is an undeniable change that occurs as she added: ‘I feel a resurrection of the freedom that I experienced when I was about 17—this beautiful 10-year cycle.
‘Despite the raging hormones and not-so-great boyfriend I had at the time, I still had a sense of wonder. I feel like I allowed that wonder to be crushed. But it’s being brought up from the ashes at the moment.’
‘It’s a curious time for me,’ she concluded wistfully. ‘But a beautiful one.’
Speaking to Bustle in 2020, she mused about having to endure planetary upheaval during the coronavirus pandemic.
‘S**t’s crazy, but in a really profound way,’ she began. ‘Big life moments happen generally during Saturn return. People get married, get divorced, have a baby. But for me, I’m stuck in a house by myself with my own thoughts, during a global pandemic, and have to deal with all the things I’ve never dealt with.’
The Divergent star has been quarantining in the woods after breaking up from her long-term partner, rugby player Ben Volavola.
She continued: ‘I was in a relationship with someone and we were very much on the road to marriage and children.’
‘[But] I realized I was still at an age where I wasn’t able to fully commit. I couldn’t be available to him in the way that I wanted to be. I didn’t fully love myself.’
She ended the interview stating that she would continue doing inner work so she could open to love as she added: ‘I was trying to use relationships to distract me from getting to know myself. I can’t run from myself. I can try, but my house is not that big.’
Just one year later, it was revealed that the actress had secretly been dating NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers.
The pair then got engaged, before they ended up calling off their engagement TWICE.
Meanwhile, the actress also took to Instagram Live with her astrologer to speak with fans about what to expect with a Saturn Return as she went through it herself.

Pop star Katy Perry also saw her marriage come to an end during her Saturn Return.
The singer made a pointed reference to the astrological transit during the lead up to the release of her 2013 album, Prism.
In the years between the release of her prior album, Teenage Dream, Katy had fallen in love with British comedian Russell Brand and married the star in October 2010.
By December 2011, the comedian revealed his decision to end the marriage – leaving Katy to channel her pain into her music.
In a June 2012 interview with L’Uomo Vogue, she explained that the album ‘would be a much darker album than the previous one. It was inevitable, after what I went through.’
Then during her speech at Billboard’s Woman of the Year in 2012, she teased: ‘I just have to let you guys know my Saturn has returned so it’ll be ugly.’
Indeed, the album covered a lot of themes about love, heartbreak and picking up the pieces.
In her song, By The Grace Of God, the star sang: ‘Was 27 surviving my return to Saturn/ A long vacation didn’t sound so bad/ Was full of secrets locked up tight like iron melting/ Running on empty, so out of gas.’
The 38-year-old then belts in the chorus: ‘By the grace of God (there was no other way)/ I picked myself back up (I knew I had to stay) / I put one foot in front of the other and I/ Looked in the mirror and decided to stay /Wasn’t gonna let love take me out /That way’.
Megan Fox, 36: Actress trusted her Saturn return to guide decisions about her career and then-marriage to Brian Austin Green
Transformers star and astrology lover Megan Fox was very prepared for her Saturn Return
The actress claimed it helped her get going ‘in the right direction’ and led her to reunite with Brian
Transformers star Megan Fox has often been vocal about her love for astrology, and the star was very prepared for her Saturn Return.
The 36-year-old was still in a rocky marriage to 90210, Beverly Hills star Brian Austin Green when she went through the changes.
Speaking to The Sun in 2016 before she turned 30, the actress hinted that her love of stargazing helped her get going ‘in the right direction’ and led her to reunite with Brian.
She explained: ‘There’s something in astrology called your Saturn return. Saturn is the planet of karma and responsibility and life lessons take 30 years to orbit your chart, so usually everyone in their 30th year has some self-realization to ensure they’re going in the right direction.
‘Or people who are extremely lost have some sort of a breaking point, some sort of a low that they hit around that year. That’s definitely what has happened for me, getting to a point where I can’t deal with things that feel unnecessary.’
Meanwhile, the mother-of-three was clearly at a point where she was feeling the need to make changes in her career.
The star – who shares – admitted that making movies was not something she felt ‘necessarily passionate about’.
She mused: ‘I’m trying to figure out what I really want to do with the rest of my life because Hollywood is not a land where you can work until you’re elderly, when you’re a woman especially.
‘It’s not something I’m necessarily passionate about, so I’ve asked myself this question for the last few years, “What is it that I’m here for and where are my passions?” I got to this place without any effort, I’m not very ambitious. It’s strange I keep getting offered these movies that are big, tent-pole franchises. So I’ve always wondered why it is happening to me when I put no effort into it.’
She continued: ‘There has to be a reason. So I’m just trying to figure out exactly what that is and what that means. I’m not trying to deny it or reject it, I just have to incorporate it with other things I like.’
Megan and Brian eventually called it quits in 2021, with the actress going on to begin a relationship with her current fiancé Machine Gun Kelly.

Gwen Stefani was the lead vocalist and primary songwriter of rock band, No Doubt, when she went through her Return.
The impact of the moment played a huge part in the 53-year-old’s music, with the group even calling their fourth studio album, Return of Saturn.
The album was praised for raw lyrical content about the transformative power of heartbreak, the changes of new love and Gwen’s yearning at the time for a more domestic life.
In the two years it took to write and record the album, Gwen had been obsessed with poet Sylvia Plath, musician Joni Mitchell and the topic of depression.
Her then-boyfriend Gavin Rossdale told the singer that she was in her Saturn return.
The singer stated that after she read up on the planet’s transit, her feelings made more sense. Gwen started to embrace her own questions rather than fearing them, channeling the results into her music.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Gwen explained that she found it ‘hard to figure out which of the Gwens is the real Gwen.’
‘At the time, I didn’t know what the feelings were all about,’ she stated. ‘I was like, “Why do I feel sad, and why is it that when I eat ice cream, it is not helping?”‘
She continued: ‘I’d never experienced any kind of depression… I’ve always been a happy-go-lucky, passive type who attached myself to one person and lived happily through them. But I got to a point where I was going, oh my God, maybe this is what an adult feels like–and it sucks!
‘And maybe nothing will ever be as exciting as it used to be when I was going through puberty. But I feel a lot lighter now.
