“This one is special”: After Tom Cruise, Ezra Miller’s The Flash Gets Stephen King’s Stamp of Approval Ahead of Premiere

The excitement among DC fans for The Flash doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon, as the film keeps on garnering rave early reactions from several biggies, including Tom Cruise, and now even Stephen King. Even though Stephen King isn’t the biggest fan of the Superhero genre, and as an acclaimed horror author, he is more inclined toward the horror landscape, The Flash might have changed his perspective.

The production of the upcoming Ezra Miller-led film hasn’t been the smoothest, following the actor’s controversies, which have led to several delays for the movie. But with the movie on the horizon, early reactions from several industry giants seem to indicate that the movie might be worth the wait.

Stephen KingStephen King absolutely loved Ezra Miller’s The Flash

With a month away from its eventual release, author Stephen King recently got the opportunity to experience an early screening of The Flash, and the author has nothing but nice things to say about the film. Even though fans will have to wait a while before eventually witnessing Andrés Muschietti’s take on the scarlet speedster, the reaction from Stephen King has increased fans’ expectations. Despite not being an avid enjoyer of superhero films, King didn’t back away from commending the movie and claimed that it was a “heartfelt, funny, and eye-popping” experience, and he loved it.

When asked if the above statement from King is true, James Gunn stated, “Hell yes it is.”, which was obvious, as he previously claimed that The Flash is one of the best Comic book movies ever. However, Stephen King isn’t the only celebrity who got the honor to experience an early screening of The Flash, as Tom Cruise had a similar experience watching the film

Apart from the industry giants, the early reactions of The Flash have also been pretty great after its first public screening at CinemaCon. Many fans have also deemed it one of the best comic book movies ever made, and some claimed it might even be the best superhero movie since Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. And considering that the movie is heavily influenced by the iconic Flashpoint storyline, and following Muschietti’s previous works, it’s safe to say that these reactions might not be too far away from the truth.

With the movie set to create a fresh slate for the new DCU, and considering the high praise it has garnered from several industry biggies, this might be the brand new start that the new DCU needs.

The Flash will hit theatres on 16 June 2023.
