Piers Morgan insists Arsenal should have signed Cristiano Ronaldo when the player chose to leave Man United.
Cristiano Ronaldo has parted ways with Man United controversially after breaking up with coach Ten Hag and having to sit on the regular bench at Old Trafford. The Portuguese player eventually chose Al-Nassr club in Saudi Arabia, where he has scored 12 goals in the last 13 matches.
Although he only scored 3 goals for Man United in the 2022/23 season, Ronaldo still showed that he can complete the task of scoring. And Piers Morgan highlighted this in a Twitter post
“Pick up as much as you want, but if Arsenal had signed Ronaldo when he left Manchester United, with a contract until the end of the season, we would have won the Premier League. He knows how to win big titles and how to score when it really matters.”
Arsenal’s title race has collapsed in recent weeks. There was a time when Arsenal held a score gap of up to 12 points 7 months ago.
After 3 consecutive draws, Arsenal were crushed by Man City with a score of 1-4. Gabriel Jesus has returned from injury since early March, but the Brazilian’s goals weren’t enough to give Arsenal a boost.
At Al-Nassr, Ronaldo could not help this team win the title. In the national championship, Al-Nassr went from a good position to 5 points behind Al-Ittihad’s first place. They have lost points in 3 of the last 4 matches and let Al-Ittihad get out of reach.
Antony speaks out about future at MU
Antony has received a lot of criticism in his debut season at Man United. However, the Brazilian player hopes to play at Old Trafford for a long time.
Antony was signed by manager Ten Hag to Man United for a fee of £ 85 million last summer. The Brazilian received high expectations when he landed in English football but has only contributed 8 goals and 3 assists in 42 appearances in all competitions.
Many question marks have been raised about Antony’s suitability for the Premier League. But Antony insists he is more settled at Manchester and believes he has a bright future at Old Trafford.
“I feel like I have adapted and got used to the city of Mancheser. There are a few Brazilian players here. Casemiro and I are always out and about and we’re always doing something. I am used to the city and enjoy life here. I hope I can spend a long time here.
Knowing Casemiro, Fred and Lisandro Martinez helps a lot. Not only them, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot also helped a lot. So is De Gea. Having this support, getting their advice, having them guide and refer helps a lot. I am very happy to be welcomed to the city by all the players here.”
Antony has won the Carabao Cup with Man United this season. The Brazilian player is fighting to join MU in the top 4. Then, the focus of the “Red Devils” is the FA Cup final against Man City in early June.
