Jane Dinscore, from Texas, thought she had adopted two Bengal kittens but was left stunned when she uncovered the truth

Jane Dinscore thought she had adopted Bengal kittens, but was left stunned when she homed wild bobcats

Bengal kittens are domesticated felines that are known for their loving and loyal characteristics

The animals were reported to wildlife officials in San Antonio and it emerged that the beasts were wild bobcats.

In May 2018, Dinscore revealed that her brother James told her he had some Bengal kittens in his home, per KSAT.

She was initially reluctant about housing the animals as she didn’t want a kitten.

But, she took the cats in as her niece was desperate for a pet.

But, the cats left Dinscore and her niece covered in bite marks.

The beasts pounced when they were being fed.

Dinscore and her family looked online and noticed that the animals were not Bengal kittens.

Lisa Norwood, a spokesperson at the Animal Care Services agency, told KENS: “Once they started taking a look at the kittens, seeing how big they were, how robust they were, how their tails were bobbed, they started thinking  ‘You know what, these don’t look like your standard house cat.”

Dinscore called animal services and claimed she had found the cats abandoned in an alleyway.

She admitted that she was worried her brother would get in trouble if he was found with exotic cats.

But, after being quizzed, she changed her story.

James said that he found the animals inside the attic of a shack on his property.

Animal Care Service officials said the animals were found in Atascosa County before they were brought into the home.

The cats were quarantined during the investigation.

Officials slapped Dinscore with a fine and branded her behavior “inexcusable.”

Diana Reyes, chief executive and development officer with Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, said at the time: “We just wish they would have had the moral courage to be honest because the window of opportunity of reuniting them with their mother becomes slimmer and slimmer every day.”

Officials added: “What actually happened is that they were taken from their mother in a nearby county and were going to be kept and bred, and have their babies sold.”

They accused Dinscore of not having the “moral courage” to be truthful about where the animals were found.

Officials said that the window of opportunity to reunite the animal with their mom had most likely “passed.”

They warned that bobcats’ needs are “highly specialized” and their development time is “lengthened” when they’re in captivity.

Bobcats are carnivores that are twice as big as house cats and can reach speeds of up to 30mph.

The beasts are known for killing wildlife such as deer, sheep, and goats.

Bengal cats may look like leopards but they are domesticated felines.

The breed is known for its loving and loyal characteristics.

Tuy nhiên, các chuyên gia đã cảnh báo rằng mèo Bengal có thể là kẻ tìm kiếm sự chú ý vì chúng nổi tiếng là hay đòi hỏi tình cảm.
