In a rare accident, the Italian billionaire’s $38 million superyacht was dropped into the sea while being transported by ship across the Mediterranean.
The luxury yacht MY Song fell into the sea during a storm. The problem is that no one knows that the yacht has been dropped into the sea by the waves.
The search team found the yacht as it was floating in the sea. However, the yacht MY Song was seriously damaged. MY Song was last seen when it was towed towards the island of Menorca with more than half of its hull submerged.
MY Song yacht is 126 meters long, owned by billionaire Pier Luigi Loro Piana.
This yacht is en route to Sardinia (Italy). It was transported by heavy transport ship after surfing in North America.
Pier Luigi is the grandson of Pietro Loro Piana, founder of the world’s leading luxury fabric company Loro Piana. Last year, Forbes estimated Pietro Loro Piana’s fortune at about $1.6 billion.
MY Song was completed in 2016 and won the World Superyacht Award 2017 a year later for its luxurious design and extra-large size. MY Song is 56 meters tall and can reach a speed of 34.5 mph.
