Despite Playing Alongside Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp, Dwayne Johnson’s Failed Football Career Left the $800 Million Star Without Enough Money to Afford a Cab

One of the many inspirational personalities that the pro wrestling industry has given to the world is undoubtedly Dwayne Johnson. And with every new day that comes in, the legend does his best to motivate people while sharing his own experiences. All of this must have come to him after seeing the difficult days when he couldn’t even afford a cab.

Being fans of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, we have an idea of how troublesome his growing years have been. In several interviews, over the years, he has been vocal about his experiences from the time he was broke. And now, with much effort, he made his name big in the business. But did those days go by in a blink of an eye or something more was happening at that time?

Dwayne Johnson opens up about his difficult days from the past

Speaking on The Pivot podcast, The Rock was asked to enlighten his fans about how he used his adversities to shape himself and be where he is today.

Moreover, Johnson recollected a personal story from the past when he was cut from the Canada Football League. At that time, he had a total of $7 in his wallet, which wasn’t enough to book a cab from the airport. And then he had to take the help of his friend.

The Rock narrated an anecdote when he was cut from CFL

In the podcast, Johnson also said, “You know, I’d left University of Miami. The guys who I was playing with at that time, Ray Lewis, Warren Sapp, they were lighting the world on fire, their dreams were coming true, they were buying their mom’s houses, and when I got cut from Canada that season, that was when I had seven bucks in my pocket.”

Yes, you read it right. The Rock has played with some renowned football players like Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp in his teenage.

However, Johnson’s statements also show how difficult his teenage years must have been. Not only because of the financial crunch but because the other teammates of his age were flourishing in their careers. But surviving and coming out strong from all those days, The Rock has now made it big, being an $800 million star and one of the richest actors across the globe.
