On top of the fact that Dwayne Johnson is a massive movie star, most of his fans are also fascinated by Dwayne’s personal life as well. In fact, people are so captivated by Johnson that they even know when he has his mind-blowing cheat meals.

Between 2021 and 2023, three seasons of Young Rock aired on NBC. As anyone who has seen that show will already know, it depicts how important family is to Johnson and it has depicted the early stages of his relationship with his first wife.

During episodes of Young Rock, it seems like his ex-wife Garcia was a grounding force in his life when he needed it. With that in mind, it makes sense that Garcia and Johnson work very closely together even now that they have been divorced for roughly 15 years.

Since Garcia and Johnson continue to have a strong relationship to this day, they continue to spend time together. For that reason, it is clear that Johnson has had a lot of time to reflect on what went wrong in his first marriage.

While speaking to CNN in 2011, Johnson spoke about what led to his first marriage ending. Unlike a lot of people who try to blame their exes for everything that went wrong in their relationship, Johnson was very open about what he did wrong in his relationship with Garcia.

“I made a lot of mistakes. I didn’t have the ability or the capacity to stop for the moment and say, ‘God, I’m really screwing up. Let’s talk about this.’ “

While it is sad that Johnson wasn’t at a point in his life to make the changes he needed to fix his first marriage at the time, there is a bright lining. According to what Johnson told CNN next, he grew as a person following his divorce and he learned to value the people in his life more.

“I can’t tell you what it was then. I can tell you today that I value our relationship. When I can love you, I can really love you, whether it’s my ex-wife, girlfriend, or my little girl, or my guys, my buddies. Whatever it is, I value that relationship. “

Why Did It Take Dwayne Johnson So Long To Marry Lauren Hashian?

Roughly a decade after Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia walked down the aisle together, the couple announced they were getting separated in 2007. Later that same year, Johnson started dating a music producer and singer named Lauren Hashian.

Years after Johnson and Hashian started dating, he described what their connection was like from the moment they met.

“Within 30 seconds, I thought, Wow, this girl’s stunning. At the time, I was going through my breakup with Dany, and she was just coming off a big breakup too. Ironically, when you’re not looking for something, the power of the universe kind of takes over.”

When celebrities get divorced, it is common for them to briefly be linked to several people in the months to come. When it comes to Johnson, however, there weren’t any headlines about him and Hashian going their separate ways because they remain together to this day.

Instead, the next time there was major news about Johnson and Hashian’s relationship came in 2015 when they had their daughter Jasmine together. Following that, the couple’s second daughter Tiana was born.

Since Johnson and Hashian’s daughters were born, Dwayne has paid tribute to Lauren both as a partner and mother several times. While speaking to People in 2021, for example, Johnson spoke about how amazed he was at how Hashian taught their young daughters during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I would marvel at Lauren. We would conduct [at-home school] classes; she would be the teacher, and I sat there crisscross-applesauce with my daughters, and within five minutes I was like, “God, I am so tired.” And my wife was going and going and going.”

Later during that same interview, Johnson spoke about why fighting isn’t a big issue in his relationship with Hashian.

“There’s a comfort. We may argue, but truly within 10 minutes we pull ourselves out of it and find some humor in the things that we just said. Mainly the things that I just said.”

Considering that Johnson has made it completely clear that Hashian is such a great part of his life, many observers expected them to get married before too long. However, after their relationship began in 2007, Johnson and Hashian tied the knot in 2019.

The same year that he got married the second time, Johnson was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal’s Josh Eells. During that interview, Johnson was asked if he waited so long to get married a second time because of his divorce. After remarking that was a “good question”, Johnson explained he was reluctant to get wed again because of how his first marriage ended.

“I think so, yeah. My divorce did a number on me. I wasn’t fearful of getting married again, there was just some hesitancy. But Lauren was incredibly patient: ‘I love you, you love me, we have this amazing life together—no presh.’ ”
