Jurgen Klopp has reportedly ‘forgotten about Jude Bellingham’ and Liverpool are looking at three potential alternatives to the Dortmund teenager.
One of Liverpool’s priorities during this summer’s transfer window will be to sign two or three new midfielders.
James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all likely to move elsewhere and Liverpool need to recruit higher-quality replacements.
They have been constantly linked with Jude Bellingham over the past year, but they have now exited the race for the midfielder. His value has skyrocketed to around €130m this season so Liverpool plan to use their funds to recruit several players.
Spanish outlet Nacional are reporting that Klopp and Liverpool have decided to ‘forget about Bellingham’ – who is set to sign for Real Madrid – and ‘think of alternatives’.
‘There has been talk of Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella or Wolves’ Matheus Nunes’ but Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister is ‘the option that has gained strength in recent days’.
The World Cup winner has been in stunning form this season and Brighton are ‘aware that they have a diamond in their hands’.
70 million is the exit price they have placed on him’ so ‘Liverpool already know how much they will have to pay’ to seal this addition before next season.
Ex-Liverpool man Dietmar Hamann thinks it would be “brilliant” for his former club if they signed Mac Allister.
“Mac Allister was brilliant at the World Cup. A great team player. At Brighton, he has done wonderful things and I think Liverpool need to be talking about players who lead teams, someone who makes other players better and I don’t think they have enough of those types of players at the moment,” Hamann told Best Gambling Sites.
“Van Dijk used to do it but he’s got a few issues himself. If they could get that done, I think it would be brilliant news for Liverpool fans because once you sign him, it gives you a better chance and opportunities to sign other players as well.”
On Liverpool and Newcastle target Ryan Gravenberch, Hamann added: “You need to see who they bring in but I think Liverpool probably need two to three midfield players in the summer. If Newcastle keep all their players, the player who is probably playing this position is Joelinton who has been excellent too – someone who I said a few months ago might be a perfect player for Liverpool.
“For now the competition at Liverpool is probably less than it is at Newcastle. The way Newcastle is heading at the moment, it won’t be easy to get into that team. That might be easier in Liverpool.”
