AARON WAN-BISSAKA and Tomas Soucek both went down in agony after a clash of heads today.
The stars collided as West Ham beat Manchester United 1-0 in East London.
With the Hammers leading United with 10 minutes left, both men leaped up to win an aerial duel. But they ended up smashing into each other instead.
The referee quickly halted play as both stars lay in pain on the pitch. Wan-Bissaka and Soucek remainded stranded for at least five minutes as an emergency stretcher was driven out on a buggy.
It looked almost certain that both players would be required to come off after new concussion laws. But incredibly, the duo both eventually got back to their feet.
And after a final check, they were able to see out the remaining minutes of the match. It left fans scratching their heads, with many fuming that Wan-Bissaka and Soucek weren’t taken off for their safety, let alone allowed to continue playing.
One said: “In what world do these training staffs let Wan-Bissaka and Soucek back onto the pitch after that?”
Another declared: “Football continues to fail players when it comes to head injuries.
“How either Soucek or Wan-Bissaka have been allowed to play on there is a joke.”
One noted: “Amazed both Wan-Bissaka and Soucek aren’t coming off!
“When is the Premier League going to take concussions seriously?”
Another added: “If we are serious on concussion protocols, there is no way Aaron Wan-Bissaka & Tomas Soucek are allowed to keep playing.
“That was a 7 minute stoppage, they should’ve both been taken off.”
