One Piece: 6 Legendary Devil Fruits

These legendary fruits in the One Piece world are known for their powerful abilities.

The world of One Piece has seen the introduction of several Devil Fruits over the years as these fruits are the core of the power systems in the story. Introduced in the very first chapter, Devil Fruits have only grown in importance as the series has gone on and even though there are other power systems in the story, Devil Fruits continue to remain the primary one.

In a plethora of incredible Devil Fruits, there are only a few that hold special status and these are the legendary Devil Fruits in the One Piece world. These fruits have been coveted by the greatest for their legendary status and they are overpowered in more ways than one.

6. Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika

The Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika is a powerful Mythical Zoan type of Devil Fruit that holds legendary status in the One Piece world. This fruit was only recently introduced to the fans in the story when Luffy fought against Kaido in Wano Country.

After dying in the fight against Kaido, Luffy Awakened his Gomu Gomu no Mi and it was revealed to the fans thereafter that the real identity of this Devil Fruit was actually the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. This Devil Fruit is incredibly powerful as it allows its users to fight with absolute freedom and bring joy and laughter to the people around them, making them a warrior of liberation.

5. Ope Ope no Mi

The Ope Ope no Mi is a Paramecia type of Devil Fruit eaten by Trafalgar Law. This fruit allows Law the ability to create ROOMs anywhere and operate within them. Anything that falls under the ROOMs are things that he can manipulate with his powers. Those who are within his ROOMs are like patients on an operating table.

Law’s Devil Fruit requires quite a great deal of medical knowledge to use properly, however, it certainly does hold legendary status in the One Piece world. This is mostly down to the fact that this fruit can grant immortality through the Perineal Youth Surgery and, on top of that, can also allow Personality Switch.

4. Yami Yami no Mi

The Yami Yami no Mi is a Logia type of Devil Fruit and is believed to be the most sinister of all Devil Fruit abilities in the story. This fruit was eaten by Blackbeard after stealing it from Thatch, the Fourth Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, before he defected from the crew.

Unlike other Logias, this fruit does not grant the power of intangibility. Instead, it makes him take twice as much damage, however, what he gains is the ability to suck in everything, like a black hole. Even intangible things, such as pain, as well as the Devil Fruit abilities of other people can be taken in by this fruit and that is precisely what makes it special. Blackbeard controls infinite darkness with its powers and, in his words, infinite darkness means infinite gravity. Without a doubt, the Yami Yami no Mi is a legendary Devil Fruit.

3. Gura Gura no Mi

The Gura Gura no Mi is a powerful Paramecia type of Devil Fruit known to hold the power to destroy the world. It allows the user the power to create quakes out of thin air and destroy anyone and anything in the vicinity. Its former user, Whitebeard, displayed its power during the War of Marineford.

Currently, this fruit is in possession of Blackbeard, and he stole it from Whitebeard during the Paramount War. He is the only living person in the world of One Piece to possess two Devil Fruit abilities at the same time. Having already had access to the strongest Logia, Blackbeard also gained access to the strongest Paramecia with the Gura Gura no Mi.

2. Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami

The Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami is a powerful Mythical Zoan type of Devil Fruit that was introduced to the fans towards the end of the Wano Country arc. This legendary devil fruit is precious and was in possession of Kaido of the Four Emperors for quite a long time. Why exactly Kaido had this fruit and why he preserved it remains to be seen.

This Devil Fruit was eventually eaten by Kaido’s child, Yamato. After eating this fruit, she gained the powers of a mythical wolf, who is portrayed to be the guardian deity of the land of Wano. Yamato also gained the powers to manipulate ice and physical powers that, when combined with all the other abilities that she possesses thanks to being Kaido’s daughter, made her incredibly powerful.

1. Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryuu

The Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryuu is also a Zoan type of Devil Fruit and this one was in possession of Big Mom nearly 38 years ago. How she acquired it remains to be seen, however, she ended up feeding it to Kaido on the day of the God Valley Incident, when Rocks fell. Kaido has, since then, gone on to master its abilities.

This legendary Devil Fruit gave him the ability to transform into a giant, blue eastern dragon. Along with impenetrable skin, Kaido gained a massive body as well as the ability to breathe fire, launch wind-based attacks, and use lightning roars. He could also produce Homuragumo to fly. This Devil Fruit made Kaido invincible for quite a long time and is certainly legendary in the One Piece world.
