Mo Salah and his peers starred in a video promoting Liverpool’s new kit inspired by their ’70s strip but fans compared them to pornstars from the period because of the sunglasses they wore
Fans say Mo Salah and his Liverpool team-mates ‘resemble pornstars from the 1970s’ in the bizarre video promoting the Reds’ new kit.
Salah, Luis Diaz, Andy Robertson, and Darwin Nunez, amongst others, featured heavily in the clip Liverpool released on Twitter unveiling the new kit – which is a throwback to the team’s strip in the ’73/74 season. The bizarre video attempts to encapsulate the mood of the ’70s by incorporating an old photo booth with Polaroid snaps of the new kit.
However, it’s not just the aesthetics of the clip that’s giving fans the ’70s feel. Salah and Co’s choice of glasses in the montage had them looking like they were appearing in an adult movie from the time period, supporters claimed.
Under the video of the clip which depicts the Kop’s finest donning slightly tinted brown shades adorned with gold frames, one fan quipped: “Like 70s porno stars.” But others were less harsh and heaped praise on the Reds’ new strip.
A second supporter gushed: “OK, yeah, I’m in love,” one fan tweeted. And a third user added: “The best Liverpool kit in a long time!

“First awesome @LFC kit by @Nike. I can’t resist buying it. Hopefully, the away and third kits are also the classics,” a third added. Before a fourth supporter declared: “We kept it simple for once, no wacky colours being added into the mix that just felt weird or off the colour palette.”
Meanwhile, on the pitch, the Reds are moving as rampant as sex gods after banging in 16 goals in their last five Premier League games, in an unbeaten run that’s seen them decimate Leeds 6-1 and participate in an epic 4-3 thriller against Tottenham.
It’s here… and it’s beautiful.
