Former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has had a mixed start to life in Al Nassr but could be their biggest asset if they try to sign his ex-teammate.
Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United under a cloud in November.
From attacking Erik ten Hag to criticising younger teammates’ desire, the 38-year-old left very few bridges intact between himself and his former club. Ronaldo deemed he deserved better and wanted a club who would treat him like a star.
Since his arrival in Saudi Arabia, his wish has been granted. Ronaldo was immediately installed as captain of Al Nassr and has been a regular in both the Pro League and cup competitions.
His place has also been justified thanks to his goal return. With 12 strikes in 14 appearances, few can argue about his impact on the pitch.
However, if reports are to be believed, Ronaldo’s potential to lure stars to the Middle East is set to be tested next. Diario AS has claimed Alex Telles’ time at United could be coming to an end after his loan spell at Sevilla is complete.
It is understood Telles is being targeted by Al Nassr as they set about cementing their global image following Ronaldo’s arrival, even if the Portugal legend’s future at the club remains uncertain. United’s full-back has already spoken positively about working with the Portuguese legend.
Back in 2021, Telles told United’s official website: “There aren’t words to describe Cristiano, we all know how important he is. It’s not just for Manchester United, but in football in general.
