Manchester United fans cheered manager Erik ten Hag as the head coach picked up a green and gold ‘Glazers out’ scarf to throw back into the crowd.
This came after their 1-0 victory over Aston Villa, where Bruno Fernandes‘ goal handed the Red Devils a huge boost in their search for Champions League football next season.
While Ten Hag isn’t aware of the connations of the scarf, he was cheered by the home fans after being recorded throwing a green and gold scarf back into the Stretford End.
The Dutchman was walking off the pitch before noticing a flag beside him, which he picked up and distributed back to the supporters as they cheered.
After Friday’s supposed deadline for the bidding parties interested in the purchase of the Old Trafford side, United supporters were vocal as they protested against the Glazer family once again.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is believed to be the frontrunner to take over from the Glazer family ahead of Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani.
However, the Englishman’s desire is to purchase either 69 per cent of the club or slightly more than 50 per cent should Glazer brothers Joel and Avram wish to stay in what would be a controversial move, reported by the Daily Mail last week
Supoporters displayed banners outside Old Trafford before their clash against Aston Villa, with fans marching with flares in protest against the Glazer family.
The fans have made their voices heard at several times this season as they chant against their owners during matches, demanding that they sell the club.
A protest began on Sunday, ahead of the clash against Villa, and the supporters have made their feelings known on the current situation in Manchester.
It remains to be seen as to who will be successful in their bid for the English giants.
However, any move which would see the Glazers remain will no doubt be met with further protests from the fans, who may believe that Ten Hag is on their side.
The green and gold colours are those of Manchester United’s past and used in protest of the Glazers.
United’s red and black colours are swapped to green and gold as a callback to the days when the club were known as Newton Heath and played in green and gold.
The yellow colour is seen as a symbol of love of the beautiful game and a rejection of their current owners.
