On April 27, Big Bang’s Taeyang, who released his new solo mini album “Down to Earth,” appeared as a guest on the broadcast of SBS Power FM’s “Cultwo Show.”
On the surprising success of the title song “Shoong! (feat. LISA of BLACKPINK)”, Taeyang humbly said: “Thankfully, I achieved good results by collaborating with Lisa, thank you for helping me.“
Taeyang then revealed his special relationship with Lisa since when Lisa auditioned for YG, he was present.
Taeyang recalled: “I didn’t intend to be there. When I was working in the studio, I heard that someone from Thailand came to audition. After finishing working, I went down and observed the audition. I don’t remember exactly, but she was an elementary or middle school student back then. She came from Thailand alone, so I felt a little bitter. I remember the song she sang, ‘Baby,’ by Justin Bieber. As soon as I heard Lisa sing I knew right away that this young lady would be big in the industry in the future.”
Taeyang added that Lisa is aware of this fact. When the DJ said that it would have been meaningful for Lisa to collaborate with him, he shared his thoughts: “I feel excited somehow because that girl is doing amazing, she really has a name in the industry, I’m not just talking about her fame in Korea I mean globally. I’m glad to witness her success and see her succeed”.
