Chris Pratt dressed to impress alongside fashionable Pom Klementieff and Karen Gillan as they made an appearance at the Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 press conference in Seoul on Tuesday.
The Jurassic World actor, 43, whose latest film, Super Mario Bros. Movie, has become the biggest film of 2023 thus far, not only joined a few of his fellow cast members at the event, but also the director, James Gunn.
The third installment of the successful Marvel franchise is slated to premiere in theaters to anticipated fans next month on May 5.
As he stepped onto the spacious stage inside the Conrad Hotel in the heart of Seoul, Pratt showed off his dapper side by wearing a pair of dark navy slacks along with a matching suit jacket.
He added a sleek, black dress shirt underneath, along with a dark navy tie to complete his overall ensemble as he promoted the upcoming project.
Chris also slipped into a pair of shiny, black dress shoes and accessorized his look with a luxurious watch placed on his left wrist.
The actor will reprise his role of Peter Quill, also known as Star Lord, in the upcoming Marvel film, which will also end the trilogy.
During an interview with Fandango earlier this month, the star recalled the final day on set of Guardians and explained that he read old ‘press clippings’ that guessed the first movie would be a failure.
‘That was the consensus critically. Everyone was saying all of these negative things. At the time, we were all pretty nervous and insecure about the prospects,’ he explained.
‘Of course none of that came true. Thank God, we had this great run. At the end, I wanted to read some of those clippings to the cast and crew and specifically, to James and to, I guess, kind of rub it in a little bit.’
‘Just to say we overcame a lot to get to where we are and we weren’t supposed to be where we are but we did something special. Just to bask in the moment of what these last 10 years have been.’
His fellow castmate, Pom Klementieff, who plays the character of Mantis in the franchise, showed off her preppy sense of style wearing a red and gray plaid miniskirt.
The Thunder Force star also donned a white, cropped blouse that showcased her toned midriff, and added a long, sleeveless vest jacket that had the same material as the skirt.
The actress also added a striped tie and patterned socks that coincided with the color scheme of her overall ensemble.
Pom donned a pair of black, heeled shoes and carried a cute, dog purse that also contained matching details from the New York-based brand, Thom Browne.
Her short blonde locks were combed back into a sleek style in order to prevent any loose strands from falling onto her face.
Karen Gillan was also in attendance at the press conference to promote the final installment, and put on a rather leggy display wearing a black minidress with a hem that stopped a few inches above her knees.
The stylish ensemble was held up with thick, belted straps that easily wrapped around her shoulders, with longer sleeves also attached to the dress.
The Doctor Who alum slipped into a pair of closed-toed, black heels to complete her monochromatic look for the special event.
Her long locks were parted in the middle, and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in light waves.
The trio were seen pausing for a slew of photos together after they all stepped onto the brightly lit stage.
Other stars that will appear on the big screen once again, but were not in attendance at the press conference, included Zoe Saldana, Sean Gunn, Dave Bautista, and also Vin Diesel and Sylvester Stallone.
The premise of the third film follows Peter Quill, who is ‘still reeling from the loss of Gamora’ as he ‘allies his team to defend the universe and one of their own – a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians,’ according to an IMDB synopsis.
The director of the project, James Gunn, also joined the press conference on Tuesday to discuss the final installment.
The filmmaker, who is the current co-CEO of DC Studios, opted for casual comfort during the event.
He donned a pair of light gray slacks along with a black, printed T-shirt, and layered the look with a warm cardigan on top. He slipped into a pair of vibrant, white sneakers that were tightly secured with laces.
During an interview with Rolling Stone published earlier this month, James hinted at the opening song in the Guardians Vol. 3 film. The movies are known for its catchy soundtracks, however, the music in the third film will help set a ‘different tone.’
‘It starts with Radiohead’s acoustic version of ‘Creep.’ And that’s just a much different tone from the beginning than the other two films,’ he revealed.
Chris also opened up to the outlet about the last movie in the trilogy and stated that it has, ‘matured in its emotionality the same way that probably the audience has matured.’
He further explained, ‘The kids who loved Guardians were teenagers, and now they’re in their mid-twenties, and it’s really exciting to think that they’re ready for this movie the way that they might not have been nine years ago.’
Pratt also reflected on how his career has completely changed since he joined the Marvel universe. ‘My entire life is different now because of Marvel, because of the Guardians of the Galaxy. It did change my life in such a way that I’ve been going nonstop ever since.’
Karen jumped into the conversation during the interview, and discussed what fans could expect from her character, Nebula. ‘We’re starting to see her heal a little bit and develop the personality that was maybe put on hold.’
The first Guardians Of The Galaxy movie was released in 2014, and received critical acclaim. The film raked in a whopping $773.3 million in the global box office, and also received two Oscar nominations.
The sequel, simply titled Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, was released three years later in 2017, and garnered even higher box office numbers with $863.8 million in global sales.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 has also had its fair share of drama over the years. Back in 2018, James Gunn was fired from the production due to a slew of controversial and offensive tweets.
However, the following year, it was revealed that the filmmaker had been hired back onto the project.
Karen weighed in to Rolling Stone about the ups and downs that the production has faced. ‘When it looked like we weren’t going to make the movie without James, it just didn’t feel right at all.’
‘The only thing I ever wanted was that James would direct it,’ Chris also added. ‘That’s all I hoped for. It’s a difficult landing to stick, and seeing that we had the blueprint and the right leader to get us there was a real relief.’
The final installment to end the Guardians trilogy is slated to hit theaters early next month on May 5.
