Jack Grealish has bitten back at his partyboy critics and said that other stars let their hair down just as much as he does.
The England and Manchester City winger did not hold back with his celebrations after winning the first major trophy of his career at the end of last season. Following City’s Premier League title triumph, Grealish was seen partying at their trophy parade before jetting off to Ibiza and Las Vegas with his friends this summer.
However, he has been criticised for his partying during the off-season, but the 26-year-old has now responded to those jibes for the first time.
Speaking to The Sun, he admitted: “Obviously I’m enjoying myself. I went to Ibiza after we won the league, and then I went to Vegas after my England trip.
“Then apart from that, I was away with my girlfriend, working hard and trying to get back training. I was getting a lot of stick off the lads for posting too many training photos on my Instagram.

“I think it’s just one of them: when I do something, partying or whatever, it’s going to get picked up on more than others. I’ve seen a lot of people in Ibiza and Vegas, but they didn’t get nowhere near what I got.”

Grealish was immediately thrust into the spotlight after moving to the Etihad Stadium from Aston Villa last summer, with his £100million price tag making him the most expensive player in British football history.

Although he expected to be under the magnifying glass in his first season at City, he believes he has since gotten used to discussions about his performances.
“People don’t really want to see you training hard after the season,” he added. “They want to see all the other stuff – the controversial type of stuff.
“I’ve just tried to get used to that now. It was difficult earlier on in my career but I’ve had to get used to it. I knew that coming to one of the biggest clubs in the world, and the best club in England that I was going to get more of that. I’ve had to deal with it

“Others will get it I suppose – Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips. It’s part and parcel of playing for a massive club. But you’ve got to keep smiling, haven’t you?”
The former Villa man is currently in the USA with the rest of the City squad as Pep Guardiola’s side prepare for the new season. He featured in Wednesday’s friendly against Club America and was even involved in a scuffle with opposition keeper Guillermo Ochoa.
