She’s gonna be popular.
Fans are finally getting a first look at Ariana Grande in character as Glinda the Good Witch in the upcoming movie adaptation of “Wicked.”
In new photos captured on the set of the Jon M. Chu-directed musical flick, Grande clutches a sparkling scepter, her platinum blond hair topped with a gleaming crown.
She wears a pink strapless ballgown with a corseted bodice and full ruffled skirt, presumably the work of Tony-winning “Wicked” costume designer Paul Tazewell.
Taking on the role originated by Kristin Chenoweth, Grande stars opposite Cynthia Erivo, who’s playing Elphaba (originally portrayed by Idina Menzel on Broadway).
On Sunday, the “Positions” singer shared a dimly lit production still of her look for the film on Instagram.
Fans went wild for the teaser, dropping comments including, “i think i just passed out,” “i can’t believe it’s getting real” and “i’m crying real tears right now.”
The new set photos come after Grande addressed “concerns” about her changing body, with some claiming the star looked “too thin” in recent paparazzi pics.
In a candid three-minute TikTok, the songstress said she’s “healthy,” and asked her followers to think carefully before commenting on other people’s appearances.
“The body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body. I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly,” she said.
“[I was] at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn’t my healthy.”
Added the “Thank U Next” singer, “I know I shouldn’t have to explain that. But I do feel like maybe having an openness and some sort of vulnerability here, good might come from it.”
Fans applauded Grande’s “graceful and compassionate” response to the speculation about her slim figure.
The first “Wicked” movie hits theaters Nov. 27, 2024, while the second is currently set for release on Dec. 25, 2025.
