arlett Johansson looks great as Poison Ivy in fan art.

We here at Giant Freakin Robot love a good piece of fan art with those most loyal to a franchise popping their favorite entertainers into roles they’d love to see them in. Our latest bit of imaginative news comes from an Instagram user who recently visualized Scarlett Johansson leaving her allegiance to Marvel behind and working alongside their rivals at DC Studios. The post, which you can see below, features the Black Widow and Jojo Rabbit star taking on a shade of green in a piece that illustrates her as the villain Poison Ivy.
Green is the theme in this Instagram user’s creation as just about everything in the photo is drenched in the color, save for Scarlett Johansson’s hair which is true-to-the character’s blazing red hair. With green eyes and lips, we’re also getting some insight into how the star would’ve worked out as MCU superhero and attorney She-Hulk. In the background, Poison Ivy is shaded in a dark green forest complete with overgrown pieces of ivy crawling up her body.
While her time playing Black Widow in the MCU may have come to an end, audiences won’t need to wait too long to see Scarlett Johansson back on the big screen. Previously working alongside kooky and colorfully creative director Wes Anderson in his animated feature Isle of Dogs, Johansson will soon appear in his upcoming title, Asteroid City. Joining a slew of frequent Anderson collaborators, including Willem Dafoe, Edward Norton, and Jason Schwartzman, she’ll come on board with newcomers like Maya Hawke, Margot Robbie, and Tom Hanks in a desert-set story surrounding a group of school star-gazers.

Recently receiving the ax from Netflix on her highly-anticipated rom-com, Paris Paramount, there’s hope that the Nancy Meyers film, in which Scarlett Johansson stars alongside Owen Wilson and Penelope Cruz, will find a new home via Warner Bros. Although it came as a major surprise to fans eager to catch the star-studded movie helmed by the filmmaker who brought us favorites like The Parent Trap, What Women Want, and The Holiday, it seems the budget may have been just a bit too big for Netflix to cover.
When you land an A-list cast with one of the most celebrated directors in the rom-com game, the numbers add up quickly with Netflix unsure if they can cover the tab.
But, don’t worry, Scarlett Johansson won’t be letting her fans down anytime soon as she’s continuing to stay busy with even more productions including Project Artemis and My Mother’s Wedding. The former will see her team up with Channing Tatum, Ray Romano, and Jim Rash in an Apple TV+ film that will center on the 1960s space race. Meanwhile, the drama My Mother’s Wedding will focus on three sisters’ journeys home to attend their mother’s third wedding with Johansson leading alongside Freida Pinto, Emily Beecham, and Sienna Miller.
As for who we may see filling in the role of Batman’s nemesis Poison Ivy should she appear in any of the upcoming Matt Reeves’ helmed projects, that answer is still up in the air. While we don’t think it will be Scarlett Johansson, there’s always a chance that she’ll jump the Marvel ship and go full green for DC – but we have to say that the chances are slim.
