Actor Mark Wahlberg will not tolerate disrespectful comments about the military. Actor Tom Cruise was once asked if he felt like a soldier while filming for his movies, he agreed and claimed it was brutal. Wahlberg came across the statement and decided to give his opinions claiming that actors have no right to compare their jobs to a soldier’s job.
The actor used some strong words, however, he seemed to have retracted his statements after he got to know that it was Tom Cruise who said those words. He then claimed that it was a misunderstanding.

Back in 2013, actor Tom Cruise was asked if shooting a movie feels like being a soldier in Afghanistan. The actor replied,
“That’s what it feels like and certainly on this last movie, it was brutal. it was brutal.”
Although the actor laughed it off, many people on social media criticized the comparison, including actor Mark Wahlberg.

After Tom Cruise’s statement went viral, Mark Wahlberg criticized those who compared an actor’s job to a soldier’s job. During his appearance at a carpet event for his 2013 movie Lone Survivor, the actor said,
“For actors to sit there and talk about ‘Oh I went to SEAL training,’ and I slept on the — I don’t give a f**k what you did. You don’t do what these guys did. For somebody to sit there and say my job was as difficult as somebody in the military’s. How f**king dare you. While you sit in a makeup chair for two hours.”
To this day, Wahlberg’s fans believe that his reaction was valid as it really was a nonsensical comparison.

However, Wahlberg then later claimed that it was a misunderstanding. During an interview with TMZ, the actor said,
“I didn’t know that it was Tom Cruise that said that. Somebody just mentioned that people are [making that comparison]. I love Tom Cruise. I have much respect for Tom Cruise, but I have just as much respect for military guys, so it’s just unfair for anybody to comment on that.”
It seems like the actor decided to give his opinion on it without confirming who said the statement. His fans defended him claiming that Wahlberg wasn’t targeting Cruise but he said that in general.
