Manchester United midfielder Casemiro joined the Reds in the summer from Real Madrid and has since established himself as a key player for Erik ten Hag.
Former Manchester City defender Danilo has admitted that he would love Casemiro to leave Manchester United and join him at Juventus.
The 31-year-old arrived at Old Trafford in the summer after wishing to pursue a new challenge away from Real Madrid. Upon his arrival, Casemiro has become a key player for Erik ten Hag and is a notable absence when missing.
United’s Brazilian returned to the fold on Thursday night after serving a four match suspension for his second red card of the season in the draw with Southampton. Casemiro performed well but could not do anything to prevent the Reds conceding a two-goal advantage over Sevilla in their Europa League quarter-final.
Juve have also progressed to the quarter-finals and will take a 1-0 advantage to Sporting next week thanks to Federico Gatti’s goal. Danilo wore the captain’s armband in the victory and before the game he praised his fellow countrymen who have key roles at their clubs too.
He explained in an interview with The Athletic: “Look at the top sides and they all have Brazilians who are either captains or hard workers. There’s Marquinhos at PSG, Thiago Silva at Chelsea, Casemiro at Madrid and then Man United.
“The perception of Brazilian footballers has changed and so where there was once a clash with Juve, all of these players could come here and be in the team for years. I’d love to have Casemiro. He’d be at home here.”
Before the draw with Sevilla, Casemiro’s agent Oscar Ribot explained that his client’s full focus was on United after he signed a four-year deal with the option of a fifth.
