The Blackbeard pirates have an array of impressive devil fruits in their ranks

The Blackbeard Pirates are one of the Emperor crews of the One Piece world. Established by Marshall D. Teach shortly after he defected from the Whitebeard Pirates, this crew rose to greatness prior to the Paramount War. Originally, this crew consisted of only five members which included their captain, Blackbeard, the Helmsman and the First Ship Captain, Jesus Burgess, Doc Q, Van Augur, and Lafitte. With time, this crew has grown significantly in both strength and number. After the great breakout of Impel Down, Blackbeard has amassed a terrific crew.

Shortly after the timeskip, it was made known to the fans that Blackbeard is one of the Four Emperors of the Sea and that his crew, the Blackbeard Pirates, now consists of 10 Titanic Captains. Blackbeard was also revealed to be on a hunt for powerful Devil Fruits and his crew has acquired tremendous abilities that have been revealed to the fans one after the other in the current arc.

Blackbeard’s Unit

After the events of Wano wrapped up, Blackbeard, the Yonko, engaged in combat against Trafalgar Law, one of the members of the Worst Generation just like him, on a sea in the New World. Law was heading northeast after Wano and at some point, he was intercepted by Blackbeard, who was after his Road Poneglyphs. The two started fighting a battle on the seas, however, Law shortly moved this fight to an island nearby. During this fight, fans got to see the abilities of quite a few members of the Blackbeard Pirates.

Fans already know that Blackbeard has two Devil Fruits at his disposal. These are the Logia type Yami Yami no Mi, which lets him control darkness at will, and the Paramecia type Gura Gura no Mi, which allows him to produce quakes out of thin air and is known to be an ability strong enough to destroy the entire world. While fans were already aware of his powers, a demonstration was given nonetheless. Fans also got to see other abilities that his crew possesses as well, starting with Doc Q’s Shiku Shiku no Mi. This is a Paramecia type of Devil Fruit that allows him to create and spread diseases as he likes. During the fight against the Heart Pirates, he was seen spreading a disease that turned anyone it touched into a woman. Once an antibody for his diseases is created, they can be broken through.

Along with him, fans were also introduced to the powers of Van Augur, who also possesses a Paramecia power known as the Wapu Wapu no Mi. Using these powers, he can teleport himself or anyone else to close ranges. Fans saw a demonstration of this during the fight against the Heart Pirates and it is surely an incredible ability, especially when it is paired with a skilled sniper such as van Augur. Jesus Burgess, the First Ship Captain of the Blackbeard Pirates, also saw his abilities get revealed during this fight. Fans already knew him to be a powerful wrestler, and now, Oda paired him with a Paramecia type of Devil Fruit known as the Riki Riki no Mi. This fruit grants him tremendous amounts of physical strength and, as such, he can perform superhuman tasks such as lifting entire mountains and hurling them at his opponents or even lifting islands if he so wishes. In terms of physical power, Burgess might be the strongest in the world right now.

The Unit On Fullalead Island

In chapter 1080 of One Piece, fans saw the Marine hero Garp invade the base of the Blackbeard Pirates. There, fans got to see a few more Devil Fruit users with terrific abilities up their sleeve. The very first one that fans saw was the Shima Shima no Mi, which is a Paramecia type of Devil Fruit eaten by Avalo Pizarro, the Corrupt King from the South Blue. This ability allows him to assimilate himself with islands and control them at will. The entire island becomes his body and defeating him would require enough power to take down an entire island. Vasco Shot, meanwhile, possesses the Paramecia type of Devil Fruit called the Gabu Gabu no Mi.

This fruit makes him a liquor human, however, it isn’t known exactly how this power works. Likely, this power allows him to produce liquor and set things on fire, consequently. Fans also got to see the powers of Sanjuan Wolf, the Battleship of the Blackbeard Pirates. He possesses a Paramecia type of Devil Fruit called the Deka Deka no Mi. This fruit allows him to increase his size even further. Wolf is already a giant and he can tower over islands at a size of 180 meters with the powers of this Devil Fruit.

The Remaining Members

Along with these new abilities, there are those that the fans are already aware of as well. Fans know that Shiryu, the captain of the Second Ship of the Blackbeard Pirates is a user of the Suke Suke no Mi and this power allows him to turn inv isible. Meanwhile, Catarina Devon, the Crescent Hunter, has the powers of the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune, and this ability allows her to turn into a nine-tailed fox and its hybrid at will.

She also has the power to take on the appearance of anyone that she likely makes contact with. Fans are also aware of the powers that Kuzan possesses. He is the user of the Logia type Hie Hie no Mi, which makes him an ice human. Aokiji can turn into, create and manipulate ice at will and is one of the strongest characters in the entire series. There is only one member of the Blackbeard Pirates whose Devil Fruit powers have not been revealed yet and that is Lafitte. Judging by his giant wings, he is likely a user of a Zoan type of Devil Fruit and if one had to guess, this could be the power of an owl.
