Commenting on talkSPORT, expert Sam Matterface found it difficult to understand: “Obviously, McTominay kicked Coleman on the edge of the box. The referee should have done something. Rashford tried to appease him. situation when talking to the assistant referee”.

Expert Stuart Pearce admitted to being surprised when McTominay escaped the penalty. He said: “McTominay had two consecutive kicks on Coleman while the Everton player was lying on the field. I was surprised that the referee did not give a penalty to the Man Utd midfielder in this situation.”

Despite the victory over Everton, Man Utd had to make a big trade-off when Rashford was injured and had to leave the field in the 81st minute.
